Sorry for the long update time had 3 tests this week and got painting things going.








will be putting the gpu covers back on tomorrow to see what they look like but so far they look amazing thumb.gif

Damn, that's a pretty sweet deal, even for engineering samples (judging from the "Intel Confidential" on
the CPU). My X5680s were about 900 bucks a pop (though they were retail and new in box, which is

Yes. the 5520 gets very hot. I'm currently putting together a server with a Supermicro X8 board (also 5520),
and I had some serious stability issues with it. Since it's made for being in a server case with lots of airflow
and only has a passive heatsink on the chipset it constantly crashed while doing stability testing (mprime).
I eventually solved it by frankenstein-ing an 80 mm fan onto the heatsink.

As long as you don't have any stability issues I woulnd't be too worried though. I think the cricitcal temperature
is 95 C (can't look it up at the moment because my server is disassembled). But yeah, I'm really glad I have
a water block on my SR-2, I couldn't take the noise from the chipset fan.
