For the time being, I don't, in future, possible, but I'm hoping to have a small, cool and quiet machine! Would you still recommend the parts listed?

Pretty much. Intel CPU's use less power and that translates in to less heat/noise. A somewhat overclocked 4670k will still put out less heat then an stock FX-8350. If there is the slightest chance you want to overclock later I strongly recommend you go with an Z87 chipset motherboard and like I said if you appreciate silence at all then an aftermarket cooler is pretty much a must (the boxed coolers are crap be it Intel or AMD).

change the ram to Kingston BLu or G.skill i know vengeance is good but you can get better deals for the same price wink.gif
