What to do with the second monitor

Thread Starter
Hey all.

Well apologies for the silly question, but, I have 2 monitors, one a 19" that I've been using for years now, and another a 23" I got recently. Thing is, I was thinking I could use the 23" for gaming etc and the 19" as a second screen but truthfully a lot of the time the 19" will be off as I can't think of anything that needs the screen. What do you use dual monitors for?

When I'm gaming, I use the second screen for TeamSpeak, so I can monitor people joining, and leaving the channel. Occasionally I will also use it for walk throughs.

I recommend plugging it in and giving it a try for a few weeks. I would put money on that you won't unplug it after a few days.

When I went to 2 monitors, I swore I would never go back. Now I am at 3 displays, and soon to be four. Its just so darn convenient.

I am not just talking about gaming either, although surround gaming is nice, but two screens in an OS environment is miles above when it comes to productivity and accomplishing tasks.

So plug it in and go about doing what you normally would, but do it on 2 mons and see what happens.

Wow I definitely forgot to reply here redface.gif. Thanks guys biggrin.gif.

The catch is, I've tried it but still don't really see the need. I feel like this 23" screen is way more than enough and on the rare occasions where it isn't it's only then that I need to turn on the second screen. As far as monitoring temps etc, I don't care enough to turn on the screen, and if it's really an issue (it rarely is) I can just alt-tab.

When I moved from 4GB to 12, a friend suggested I just not close programs, and I've found that that's really great since I tend to be able to switch between things now, but with this other screen, I still can't seem to find a regular use for it which is incredibly disappointing. .
