Monitor: 27" 1440p QNIX 2710 II [270€]
CPU: i5 4670k [220€]
GPU: Sapphire R9 290 Tri-x [420€]
RAM: G. Skill Trident X 2x8 16 GiB 2400 MHz [183€]
MoBo: GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-UD3H [172€]
Disks: Samsung 840 EVO 250 + 120 GB, Kingston SSD 60 GB, WD Caviar Green 2 TB [140 + 85 + 54 + 78]
PSU: XFX Black Edition 850W [156€]
I don't need neither case nor cooler.

Total: [1778€] but I have a 15% discount coupon, so it will be 1500€.

I could buy a 100€ motherboard, a 100€ PSU and 140€ RAM to save 145€ after discount (1350€), but I don't know if it's a good idea, what do you think?

NOTE: it's not guarranteed that I'll find the best parts, for example they don't have any Seasonic and they are lacking the XFX 750W Black Edition or the 650W 80+ Silver. I don't have a big choice.

Go with Asus GTX 780 DCU2 just coz its better and a bit cheaper than that card.
For Mobo if you can then opt for UD4H instead.
For HDD go for Caviar Blues they are faster.
For PSU you wont need 850W, probably a 750 or less will do.
For the RAM you can cut down to 2x4 to save some $$$ or get teh Sniper Series to save some more $$$

Mobo: Will you be overclocking a lot (as sin to ask in OCN, but still...)...if not, the cheaper mobo would do it.
Gigabyte are supposed to be top-notch in reliability, but I would still consider an Asus Z87-A as a very good value for money, overclocking board.
I couldn't care less for the color scheme tbh, but I would place it a tad above the much better looking UD3H.

RAM: The Trident X is a great kit of RAM, but if you could save some going 2133, I doubt you would feel the difference in pretty much anything.

SSD: Why so many drives? I would try to get a 500GB 840 EVO if possible, and keep it nice and simple.

PSU: it is overkill (unless you plan on CF that 290), but if choices for quality units are that limited...

VGA: that Asus is a nice one, but it cost more in my shop. It's 425€ in another shop, but because of the 15% discount I have, I prefer to buy everything from the same place, thus this means less choice.
If they won't have a reasonably priced 780 when I'll place the order, I'll stick with 290.

MoBo: what's the difference with the UD4H?
And yes, I'll overclock to the most efficient level possible (I think it will be 4.2/4.5 GHz)

HDD: I think I'll stay with Green, as it will be a pure storage disk, I will use the fasters Samsung S3 for documents/videos/pictures and Barracuda for Steam games.

SSD: 250 GB for Windows 8, 120 GB for Linux, the 60 GB will be a dump disk for video editing temporary folder and fast tests of OS/PC.

RAM: I think 8 GB won't be enough, right now I'm always near the limit of my 4 GB rig, it won't take much time to fill 8GB.
I'll see if I can catch those 2133.

PSU: I don't know if I'll Cross someday, I chose to be prepared.
750W is barely sufficient for 2 250/300W VGAs, this is why I chose a 850W.

To bee honest I'm not a fan of Sli/Cross, I prefer a single, powerful VGAs.
What do you suggest for a single VGA build?

Binds/limits:
MoBo: must be Asus or Gigabyte Z87 with cooled VRMs.

PSU: must be fully modular, even the MoBo 24 pins cable

I see. I would still stick with as big of an SSD as possible, even for games. Gameplay is improved in both MP games with ridiculous loading times (b-gough-f4), or SP games with transition loading screens (Skyrim/Fallout etc). Don't know what you fancy most, but loading times are notably shorter even vs. the pretty fast, high density HDDs we get today.

For single GPUs, depending on the resolution you game on, it is hard to beat the vanilla 780 in value amongst the high-end cards - at least for enthusiast builds where monies will be dropped anyways.
I would love to support AMD more, and I would not mind a 290/290X, but unfortunately mining "killed" the market for these cards - at least here in the US. Just doesn't worth buying those, and ofc with stocks being depleted / market being manipulated the way it is, AMD won't need my support

I kinda fond [H] and according to them the Z87-A gives a nearly flawless OC experience with the 4770K...I don't say that you are "risking" with a UD3H/UD4H, the contrary...was just a "Safe" counter-suggestion that depending on local pricing might be good.

In the EU, due to the high electricity cost, mining is not common, so it's not a big problem to find a R9 290 (still they aren't that common).

Regarding the SSD: I need to keep Windows and Linux on different drives, so I can't go with a single 500 GB.
Now I'm using 161.54 GB for Windows 7, so I've space for the games I play the most. I'm planning to use hardlink and similar things to move the game I play from HDD to SSD, then I'll move it back in the HDD.

Regarding the MoBo I'll look for both and I'll choose the cheapest.

How much are you pulling the 4770k on the Z87-A?

I really like bequiet! coolers, I've seen a lot of good benchmarks, they do quite good, even versus the Noctua NH-DH14.

Which one do you suggest?

Dark Rock PRO 3 250W
Dark Rock 3 190W
SHADOW ROCK 2 180W
DARK ROCK ADVANCED C1 180W
Dark Rock Pro 2 220W
DARK ROCK PRO C1 220W
Dark Rock 2 180W
