that might be true, but really the only thing the HD could be used for is for loading equations.... so i think once u get to a certain point the HD doesnt affect it. i think once i also managed 28...i think it was with the 14x multi...but havent ever gotten it again since i reinstalled

...I wonder if running superpi from a ram drive would help me get back to 28s LOL

Indeed i do.

The RAM speed is increased when you increase the FSB of your processor. In general, you can't overclock your ram on its own.

Yep thats right. My fsb is currently at 250mhz - i can't squeeze any more out of it without my POS PSU squealing at me and powering down one of my hard disks! lol

i cant seem to oc my FX-55 much if i set anything too high lets say 220 FSB with a 13x mult, vcore 1.6 and vdimm 2.8 it just doesnt boot anyanswers?

Whats the default vcore on that baby? It sounds like its not getting enough power to me.
