[Official] EVGA Hadron Air Owners Club - Page 191

Some of these comments lead me to believe that the stock fan's in these PSU didn't have good quality control. Either that or people's hearing varies a lot or they judge the sounds with headphones on, which I would hope not lol. Cuz I used a CLC on both the GPU and CPU, so its nearly equivalent to a full wc loop, though ambient temp plays a part too and the PSU fan was absolutely obnoxious in gaming and way too loud during idle. Your Hadron is literally right on top of your desk in front of your face and it doesn't bother you. But they are delta, which from what I've read is supposed to be a good brand

I just took this pic while the system was a idle. Spins just fine for me.

Interesting. But was that after gaming or leaving it running for some hours? If its not a hassle and if you get time, i'd like to hear if its spinning when your pc first boots to desktop. Cuz I have 2 of the fans (one was a free brand new replacement - performance-pcs is amazing), both didn't spin at boot. Plugged them into a 4pin on my current MOBO and plugged into a older Dell 3pin and it spun fine. Oddly it never wanted to spin in my PSU except after some time. The Noctua had np spinning. But I forget if it had a problem spinning with the LNA or not.

Actually I never used headphones. Even after a few hours of gaming, I know what the fan sounds like at 100% as it runs at that speed when you first turn on the computer. It definitely doesn't sound that loud during normal use or gaming.

Running an i5 4670k and hoping to hit 4.2ghz.

I've got a Cryorig M9i that I got from Newegg recently that seems to be working alright. The Noctua NH-U9S might work, but I don't know if it has problems with the daughterboard on the Impact series or tall ram. Pictures I can find of the thing don't point toward that being the case, though. My M9i is keeping my 4690k at 4.2 and it barely scrapes 60, but I also live in New England, so that's a factor for my slightly lower-than-average temps.

Just noticed in that pick that you have the grill on wrong, if you flip it to the left or right once, the middle should line up with the middle of the fan. Not that it is significant nor will anyone be like "he let me look at your 40mm PSU fan grill" lol.

Did you pull the front panel off completely, or drill through it? I'm seriously toying with the idea of adding a 120mm just below the power button for extra coldness.
