It ended up being an anomaly, probably pushing clocks a little too high without enough voltage. NOTHING TO SEE HERE.

Quick question to anyone wandering into this thread -- are we still in need of dummy plugs for additional cards? I remember a couple years back that it was an issue with my nVidia setup, but if I don't need them anymore, I'm stuffing more cards into this machine.
