Display Driver Has Stopped - any solution? - Page 2

its the gpu crashing due to not enough voltage when benching, happens all the time if you try to push the core or memory overclock too far if you dont give the card enough voltage. Some cards also dont like going past a certain clock speed no matter the voltage, you could get a card that could do 9001 core clock with 1.0v and pass, or you could get one that wont go past 900mhz with 10v and wont pass.

And want show you temp test; Unigine Heaven worked 30 min. And after 30min I did take a SS

and played CrySis 2 - 1.5 hour with the same OC settings - Ultra 2560 x 1440

temps wont cause the display driver to crash, it will cause your core clocks to throttle but not crash the entire driver. Unless they were absolutely insanely high.

@fatmario I bought card 2 weeks ago and always updated Windows 7. After buying card remember just one update 3-4 days ago. It started (with hardly OC) to happen since I bought.

My previous card was Asus 7970 Top - I did clear drivers with both Driver Fusion & Driver Sweeper.

First uninstalled ATI catalyst

Used Driver Fusion 2-3 times

Used Driver Sweper 1 time.

Everything was deleted I think.

Than Installed Nvidia. There is a new beta driver, downloaded;

334.67-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-international-beta

but not tested.

Ok guys I could run @+220Mhz - +100Mhz without voltage. I could pass 15000 smile.gif

My experience; giving more than 100mhz to ram, no increasing performance with these GPU clocks. And It may crash. 7000mhz is already great, I could run @7100. Over 220Mhz it crashes, giving voltage doesnt help (3Dmark11)

Now I'll try Firestrike and some games. If works with these clocks without voltage, will be amazing for me smile.gif

I also noticed these are my highest scores (except Unigine Valley) Works great. Here you can read my full review

It's Turkish but you can see screenshots (games, benchs etc.)

Any solution for this problem. I've read many things but no solution.

Yesterday I did play Crysis 3 with ultra settings 2560 x 1440 (approx. 35min) no problem

No heat problem, no crashing, no artifact...

I tested Aida64Gpu Stress test; crashed with default 1046Mhz (only software that crashes, and also using modded bios)

Aida64 is a trusted software?

I would honestly just say that your OC is unstable.
With my GTX570 it was quite obvious. I could get 922 Mhz on the core in Ungine, 912 in 3DMark 11 but BF3 was a complete disaster. Not even above 800 was possible. I eventually gave up overclocking for BF3. Skyrim, Rome 2 on the other hand allowed a good OC.
And it's completely possible to be able to play a game without crashing with an unstable overclocked GPU. There could be artifacts you are missing. But it's also possible it's perfectly stable in Crysis.

Set and test your GPU OC on a game by game basis. If you can play games without crashing then what's the problem? tongue.gif

Some people says GPU or PSU has a problem. I'm saying no, don't trust to just 1 software. Forexample Aida64; May be it's unstable or it's not industry standart. May has problems with programming. They don't believe smile.gif

PSU or GPU has problems, they believe this. Actullay I'm happy with my card. Also flashed to original bios to test. I'll check.

LOL Skyrim wouldn't take any OC for me (bench stable at 950 core, both cards, does same when using single), damn thing would just CTD in a minute or so mad.gif

My firend has the same problem. So he did go to seller and they tested with different PSU and different video card with the same system - the same problem happened again. So it's not about GPU or PSU.
