Where is the A8-7600 ? - Page 3

The response I got from AMD is Q1 release will be for OEM only, so that they can start selling systems in Q2.

We won't see a product-in-box version until 2nd half 2014. Very disappointing.

Like an idiot, I've bought almost all the components except for the processor for my build. I'll probably have to go with a 7700 or a cheap APU to at least make sure my new components work before I can't return them.

Who did you contact about that information?
I'd be more interested in getting some answers on desktop-based SR/EX release dates...if any.
Assuming APUs lead, if 2015 is the earliest for Carrizo (EX), it'd be nice to at least see an SR-based FX chip in 2015.

Still weird to see APUs lead, with performance chips following.

I just e-mailed their press contacts for APU listed on their website.

Haha I'm going to try their contact for the desktop platform.
Probably not going to get much, but worth a shot.

Well thanks Dude, didn't even think about doing that... That's quite tricky to say Q1 for Q2 (as in saying "hello guys, when we say Q1, it's obviously for OEM")

Yeah guy said he can't comment on anything beyond the latest, published roadmap.

But - AMD "remains committed" to the desktop tongue.gif

I registered to reply to this thread. I've known about the one site I can find - SabrePC - that will sell the A8-7600 at this stage for about a month. And yes, it is an OEM SKU: AD7600YBI44JA

All I had to do was search for the A8-7600 on cpu-world.com, find the SKU there, and then Google search it. The CPU is available for $129.99 at SabrePC.

Both AMD and Intel have gone to great lengths to stop retail sales on individual tray processors over the years. Used to be, you could get OEM chips anywhere, anytime. Not so much these days.

There is a online store in Germany with ALL AM1 APUs and ALL ASRock AM1 MoBos in stock...

ASRock AM1B-ITX
28 EUR

ASRock AM1B-M
28.90 EUR

ASRock AM1H-ITX
48.90 EUR

AMD Sempron 2650
28.90 EUR

AMD Sempron 3850
32.90 EUR

AMD Athlon 5150
44.90 EUR

AMD Athlon 5350
50.50 EUR

So, it´s perfectly possible to build a mini-ITX with top AM1 APU at less than 100 EUR or even USD...

PS: I also found another store with ASRock MoBos in Germany and heard there is another in Italy with complete AM1 APU range and ASRock MoBos....i believe in next week or two they will be all over Europe biggrin.gifapplaud.gifthumb.gif

PSS: All AM1 APUs are BOX version.

Well sorry to bump, but 14 days later, still nothing?

Haswell was just refreshed, and while they are in different leagues, I would prefer the A8-7600, but even more so, I would prefer not to wait!
