EQ for Samson SR850

Thread Starter
Just wondering if someone can help me find a good EQ for the SR850's.

I want to tone down the highs (too piercing) and perhaps tone up the bass just a tad bit.

I'm going to get an Asus Xonar DG, but not right now.

So I'll be using the onboard ATM:

I was unable to find any frequency response graphs for the SR850 specifically, but they are supposed to be very similar to the Superlux 668, which has a treble spike around 7-8k. Most of the unpleasant treble is going to be in the 6k-10k range, and there isn't much response past 10k.

Just experiment with it a little. Drag the 60Hz slider up a couple notches if you want more rumble, the 170Hz up a notch or two, lower the 6k a notch or two, and the 12k down several notches. If you boost the low frequencies too much, you'll start to get a lot of distortion.

I'm also looking for the FR of Samson SR850 and end up on this thread. Was it like 668Bs or 681 / 681Bs?

I believe the Samson SR850 is an exact copy of the 668B. To tone down the piercing treble, lower the EQ at 6k and 12k a little bit.

I own both sr850 and sr950, both are good heaphones with different sound signatures, the last one is more focussed on the bass.
