hopefully they go straight to 20nm. The longer we wait, the more i assume they will be skipping a full run of 28nm.

I still think we will see a "small die" 880.

I'm hopeful but I don't have my crystal ball handy.... just my own predictions.

was it AMD or Nvidia which called 20nm too expensive

http://www.extremetech.com/computing/123529-nvidia-deeply-unhappy-with-tsmc-claims-22nm-essentially-worthless

AMD's Joe Macri talked about 20nm not being suitable for their APU , especially the CPU part for reaching very high frequencies. There is a difference between GPUs running at 1.2 Ghz and CPUs running at 4 Ghz. so don't confuse things.

“They’re coming in Q4. I can’t reveal a pricepoint but we’re looking at more traditional enthusiast GPU pricepoints. We’re not targeting a $999 single GPU solution like our competition because we believe not a lot of people have that $999.

ohhh the good old days pre-doge coin explosion. NewEgg sure felt plenty of people have 900$ to spend on AMD GPUs for a few weeks. thumb.gif

Yeah... I keep that PM close for when these convos pop up... FTC could care less until some one tries to file suit.
