ok so now that I have my mobo back I can test that 7970 underwater that I got recently. And my suspisions were correct it has a defective cooler. So far under water with no heatsinks on the VRM or VRAM it is doing fine, waiting on the 3D mark score to come back then im gonna install the heatsinks. I just did not want to waist heatsinks on a card that was bad! The VRM and VRAM are maxing around 80c and the GPU is only around 40c biggrin.gif

Update.....

So sad but I burnt my Golden i7 4770k. Last night after shutting the build down I forgot that I had a PSU manually jumpered to the TEC cooler and the TEC cooler basically cooked my i7..... rolleyes.gif Im pretty sure the mobo is ok but im going to have to RMA my i7 and repair the TEC cooler since it melted some of the plastic and popped a pin on one of the TEC panels.... rolleyes.gif I am very upset about this but im going to try to keep my cool and drive on lol...... Maybe by the time I get my new i7 the MO-RAD I bought will be here!

So sad to hear you cooked your chip. I forgot all about that MO-RAD you bought. You just keep going bigger and bigger with this "simple" build

Just spent the last hour or so going through this entire thread. Gorgeous build so far and I absolutely LOVE the way you set up that desk. There are desk builds and then there's this build. A truly great piece of work.

Kudos! (and subbed! biggrin.gif)
