Hi Cyclops! Could you increase the power limit to 450w ( 780ti kingpin) and voltage to 1.212v? Thank you in advance. stockln2.zip 135k .zip file

I'm trying to figure out how to make a modded BIOS myself for a EVGA GTX 680 SC Signature 2 (has 1 6-pin + 1 8-pin power connecter), but I don't quite understand everything you're doing in some of the other 680 BIOS mods I looked up from this thread to compare to the originals. I also haven't been able to really find adequate explanations poking around on Google either.

Basically, when it's said and done I want to have a fully static clock OC @ max voltage, 1.21V. Also I want to increase TDP to 350-375 range, but I'm not sure how you go about deciding the best TDP value. And of course the 100% max fan, but that and the max voltage increase to 1.21V are straightforward in the Kepler BIOS Tweaker, but I'm not exactly sure about the rest.

For instance, I noticed in the Power Table that you seemed to always modify the first and third sets of 3 to be at the increased TDP, but one time the 7th, 8th, and 9th sets of 3 we all set to the increased TDP in one 680's modded BIOS while it was only the 8th and 9th and not the 7th changed in another. Also all the ones I saw you did had an increased TDP value of 350, so I didn't know if you did that for all 680s or if the 6-pin/8-pin power connector would change that number.

Another thing that confused me was that in one modded BIOS, you had made all the Clocks and the Boost Limit match @ 1202.0 MHz (why this number?), which also matched the changed PO and P2 Max Boost States, while in another you left the Clocks the same as the original BIOS and only changed the Boosts. I assumed since I want a static OC, that I should try the former case and have the Boosts and Clocks all match, but the only way I could do this was to pick different options in the Entry # drop downs, and all the examples I looked at matched the original BIOS of the first two being Entry #1 and the third being Entry #0.

So I don't know if it would be easier for you to try and explain all this or if you'd prefer to just mod the BIOS yourself lol. I'll post it in case it's the latter, and I'll continue trying to figure it out for myself because I could possibly figure it out before you reply if I find a properly detailed resource to help me with all the things that have managed to confuse me mightily in trying to do this. Thanks either way, you're a very generous person! GK104.zip 55k .zip file

Edit: to clarify what I meant by static overclock, I want to basically have the card locked in to a single voltage and single clock speed because I only ever game on that computer, and shut down Windows as soon as I'm done. I have a second computer right beside my gaming rig for all internet browsing and other menial tasks, so I basically have no need for my 680 to ever go to an idle clock/voltage or waiver from the peak OC values. This may not be possible to arrange entirely with a modded BIOS, so I may have to end up using -forcepstate with NVIDIA Inspector. But locking it into a single clock/voltage as much as possible in the BIOS would be a big help. Thanks again

Holy jeebus, I had no idea you could be that heavy-handed with the BIOS mod settings! But it flashes fine and now I have it running as the world's most static Kepler overlock with a Clock Offset of +600MHz, a Memory Clock Offset of +402MHz, Voltage Offset of 0, and forced into P2 state @ 1.212V, giving the static 1306MHz clock/3506MHz memory.

This modded BIOS is absolutely nutter butters man

I'll report back... biggrin.gif

Had to end up backing down to +561Mhz Base Clock Offset, +298 Voltage Offset, with forced P2 state to give a rock-steady 1267MHz core clock, 3402 memory clock OC @ 1.212V. Strangely it seemed like there was some driver stability issues with NVIDIA Driver 347.25 with this BIOS/OC, so I DDU'ed and clean installed 347.09 Beta which feels great. The mouse response is incredible when combined with the static CPU OC and the SetTimerResolution service. It's the best mouse feeling response I've ever had across any combination of my previous hardware/software/OS/config arrangements. The mouse polling is phenomenally stable @ 500Hz and the DPC latency is microscopic. People should experiment more with an extreme BIOS mod like this for Kepler and Maxwell cards.

It differs from GPU to GPU as they have different voltage reading points. You need to research your specific card to see where those contact points are.
