Can you up do this to this BIOS:
- 350W default power target at 100%
- 425W max power target at 121%
- 1.281v under load

Please wink.gif

Can you just unlock the voltage so I can make it higher in precision X?

Thanks again.

I have a question. I have the problem stated in this thread with my GTX 970 -> https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/929110/cs-go-stutters-with-gtx-970-can-you-help-me-/

It seems that it's a known issue with Maxwell power savings and "older" games, if I disable boost in the BIOS, can I then use Afterburner to set a fixed clock or does that need to be done within the BIOS as well?

Thanks

Did you try out any of the fixes that were suggested in that thread you linked to?

Yes, I did. Nothing works. It's weird because a year and something ago this didn't happen, or at least not as noticeable. From what I gather around the web it's related to Maxwell's Power Management and Boost 2.0. It "misbehaves" with low gpu usage, causing stuttering and frame drops. There's dozens of reports of people switching back to older generation cards for testing such as 6xx and 7xx series and the performance is way better and smoother on a game like this.

That's why I'm interested in disabling boost and baking in fixed speeds.

There's actually a thread on OCN that pretty much has that as the title, "Disable Boost and "Bake-In" Max Game Stable Clocks for Maxwell". Have you checked it out?

So the software tool that i use is my only route??
It will allow 2.2v's, not that i will ever need it. As well as +400mv memory.

What about editing the Skyn3t bios?

Hi Cyclops,

I am running the MSI GTX980Ti GAMING 6G and loving it. Just the power limit is currently hindering my 24/7 OC settings in my TV gaming rig. Can you only change the 350W default power target at 100% and 425W max power target at 121% (or 109% if not allowed to higher). You can find my BIOS here: http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/178354/msi-gtx980ti-6144-150925

Thank you very much in advance!
