Yes, that's how to get this to work. It runs outside of Windows directly from the CD. It's the best memory test you can get.

Memtest86+ is only testing your RAM to see if any are bad/defective. I usually just do two passes. If you want to test your OC stability, use prime95, Linx, or Intel Burn Test.
