Upgrading GPU, CPU, and Motherboard

Thread Starter
Hi there im doing an upgrade to my system from this:

Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 970 Processor, 3500 Mhz
Motherboard: GA-880GM-D2H
GPU: DIAMOND 6950PE52G Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16

To this:

Processor: Intel Core i5-4670 3.4GHz
Motherboard: MSI H81M-E33 V2 Intel H81
GPU: This is where i can not decide!!

I cant choose between A) EVGA 02G-P4-3757-KR GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 FTW B) EVGA SuperClocked 02G-P4-2662-KR GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 I will be using the pc to raid regularly. Would like to get awesome frame rates in WOW and SWTOR! That is all the real gaming I am concerned about (Getting 50+ frames in a 10 man raid) Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated im working with a $150 - $200 budget left.

Thanks in advance -Brandon a.k.a. BigHead

I would keep your CPU/mobo and just get a better GPU.
The X4 970 is still a pretty good CPU, shouldn't hold you back much (if at all) in those games.

750Ti is a new line of GPU, FYI. Its not just an OC'd 650Ti.

HE MEANT PERFORMANCE. GTX 750 Ti is based on the Maxwell architecture and is much more power efficient. the main advantage with GTX 750 Ti is it does not use a PCI-E 6 pin connector. it consumes 60w power. so if you want power efficiency go for GTX 750 Ti.

But if you want a really good GPU performance upgrade I would advise you to stick with the current CPU and MB and go for a GTX 760 if you can afford it. if its out of your budget otherwise go with a GTX 660

Personally, if you can't grab a 760 right now, save for a month and then get it.

Raghu had some good points, the 660 would be an upgrade, but only slightly.
