I don't think it supports multi gpu.

I now completely understand Alatars struggle on any AMD, AMD vs Nvidia or now Mantle vs Direct3D thread.

Once again that is not my point, The thing is with Mantle, Radeon user will need less upgrades for their CPU part. Under mantle i5/i7 is powerful enough to keep the GPU fed for many many generations without bottlenecking GPU. This the kind of advantages that the directX user will not be enjoying.

I hope for it to get better in the future (especially inb4 Theif), so I really can be convinced by Mantle. Running the StarSwarm demo didn't quite convince me of it's effectiveness in real games.

Still not optimized for mGPU setups.

Remember, this a completely new API we're talking about, expecting it to be completely flawless from day 1 is just unfair.

Real question is why is the DirectX11 API also buggy. More than likely why also the benchmark show lower fps in DirectX11 than pre 14.1 drivers.

If the product wasn't ready, why didn't they wait to release?

Yes I am sure delays make more sense than releasing something as a beta -.-

What is buggy about Dx11 api btw?

Because for an initial release, it's not all that bad IMO.

Mantle works absolutely brilliant for me right now, and while I understand lots of people experienced problems with it, there's gotta the same number of people, if not more, enjoying the heck out of it.

If the next driver update brings:

- GCN 1.0 performance increases.
- Support for Mobile chips.
- Support for mGPU setups.

AMD will have a very happy user base.

Iv got 2X 7970s and it works perfectly. Id say your problem is having mixed cards, 70 and 50. They wont have any sort of profiles setup in the API for mixed cards so its probably trying to run it as if it was 2 70s
Mine went from averaging 120fps (89/88%) on DX to averaging 160-170fps (98/97%) with mantle. And from the notes on release they said multi-cards arnt officially supported yet and that 7XXX arnt fully optimised.

Really looking forward to seeing what the next driver brings since 14.1 and mantle has been beyond my expectations. Especially after the 2nd assault patch which got rid of the stutter once every 4-5mins.

Mantle has been ready for a while. AMD has had no updates since the initial Feb 1st release. Only BF4 has updated to fix an issue THEY had. Mantles first wave works, now we wait as they integrate more and a wider adaption for full functionality.

This review got some right except they interfered with the bost on the cards and only tested with a stock CPU. I don't see this as asking much in fact this is what is expected at least before these Mantle reviews.

I would expect reviewers who overclock the CPUs also to overclock the GPU. It is the only realistic scenario.
