  • Some of the most experience members of this site are ignored.
  • Nobody can reproduce these results.
  • The results don't make sense for this new API at this stage of development.
  • Nobody is allowed to point out the points above up without being attacked or accused of some such rubbish.

All I can say is I have a very good memory of the users involved, some act identically like shadow market shills. If I find out that you are receiving fringe benefits for AMD or receiving hardware from them, I will follow you to every thread\post letting everyone know who owns you.
Wow and that will help. You aren't sounding a great deal better. Its ok to have the opinion, which is valid, that the 780 was not given the best avg clock it would normally see. But, as has been brought up numerous times, the extra clocks would not have changed the order. At best a 780Ti with a 947Mhz clock would/may give the performance shown. In this case it would have been best to leave out its numbers and focus on the 290X numbers. Besides I really didn't see anyone screaming from the roof tops that the 290X was so much better than a 780Ti and how the latter purchase was stupid, then yes you would have a point. For the most part most have asserted the facts of Mantle and how it works, and possibly that the test is somewhat flawed which has raised questions on the authenticity of the result spread on even the 290X.

For now, lately, the thread has focused more on the CPU portion of Mantle and the 780Ti debate has long been dead.

I couldn't care less about a stupid boost functionality or even the 780, I am talking about the Mantle FPS vs DirectX 11 FPS. R9 290X users should be in here challenging them themselves.

I would know about the CPU conversation. I wrote OCN's article on it: http://www.overclock.net/a/amd-mantle-cpu-bottlenecks-cpu-limitations-and-you

Well if the original was in English I'd have a go at trying to understand the test scenario. But in the least, it seems that Mantle is definitely an increase in performance, not just the bump in FPS, many giving 20-30% increases, but also in the smoothness of gameplay and the lack of slowdowns in heavy CPU limited areas normally seen with DX. Or as another put it: 64 player feeling like a 24/32 player.

The biggest problem coming to this discussion is some are still having issues getting the drivers 14.1 to take, only finally getting it resolved by multiple installs. The few of those are giving enough credence to the naysayers that the success stories aren't given credence at all and seen as fanboy statements. But like many issues with early releases as time goes on the users remedy the situation and after taking a step back can finally give a fair assessment to Mantle and then many agree with the success stories.

To be fair that was early on and likely not indicative of current performance. Although I have to admit I have seen a lot of AMD users giving BF4 info with only a few Nvidia user saying much at all. Of course I don't expect much from Nvidia feedback in a Mantle thread.

The BF4 benchmark from Anandtech gives the best example of what to expect when both games have equal efficiency in DX11 and Mantle.
A highend i7 and R9 290X will be GPU bound essentially (efficient multi-threaded renders) but the same system will perform better on Mantle by about 5~10%.

That is how you know this is bull.

Sorry.but you come across as biased when you say things like "We are the community. Whether they know what it means, Open Source is inherently goodie goodie to our community. Closed Source is bad evil corporation. Now, you and I both know it is just a system of control vs. non-control. I believe whole heartedly somethings should be closed. You are absolutely right, it could be a RHEL, but AMD themselves are claiming it is open to everyone, nVidia, Microsoft, the public, etc. etc. Well it isn't, and so far there are no plans for it. I don't think they should be making certain claims, basically.
This is more of long standing problem I have with AMDs marketing and PR. I feel they take advantage of people at times."

If you.can link me to similar comments you have made about.g sync, phsyx, etc then please disregard. Otherwise stop acting like it's all AMD users who look at things one sided. Your doing the exact same thing. If you don't like these results disregard them and move on. There are plenty of sites I just laugh at because they put nvidia benchmarks so far ahead of what they should be, tom's hardware for one. Maybe this is your tom's hardware. Don't bother trying to change other people's opinion tho cos you won't. Just be satisfied in the knowledge you know better thumb.gif

And that would be day one Mantle release and there was a problem, just it wasn't Mantles it was BF4. Said problem was fixed with a recent BF4 patch. While I like reading the articles I never take them as indicative of users results here, maybe for some of the purchasing world. I get better results than some of their high end card benches with my 7770x2. I don't go screaming that they suck or they lied. I accept that I know how to squeeze every drop of performance from my machine, whereas they probably don't try too hard whether it be time constraints or monetary handcuffs.

Not really proving a point here but I'm just here to point you in the right direction:
https://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/news/view/bf4-mantle-live/

The graphs show us that even with Mantle the cpu is the component that fails to deliver to the gpu on time creating a stall on the previous frame. The is still a cpu bottleneck even on the highest available cpu it seems that is why there is performance gains to be achieved.

He wrote an article on cpu bottleneck but still has a hard time understanding simple analogy lol.

Btw... Those are still gains on a high end system.

Incase you missed it that is single player.

Mantle is doing great if you ask me.
