Exactly.... I await the next thing that will come up to disqualify this benchmark.

So far we had boost clocks, gsync and frame times.

Yes, proof that you didn't post.

Yes, it is doing pretty well with only a small number of large spikes, but much better than what AMD has been known for in the past.

.....................................

Now the video as a whole brings up further talking points about the review in this thread, and what I noticed in the REVIEW video in the OP.

It appears Mantle is scaling with Crossfire really well; both videos were Ultra 1080P, but the video Sugar posted kept up with 120 very well with 290 Crossfire. The lowest dip being down to about 100, which is all around great performance. Yet the single 290X in the OP video was flopping between 54 and 155 FPS. Obviously 290 in Crossfire at 1080P might be a bit "overkill" but it is getting the job done very well. Although the OP video appeared to have more going on, if only marginally so. I don't think enough to fully explain a 100 FPS variance on a 290X.....

The other talking point is consistency. With the number of reports coming in, and two VERY different videos sitting here, is Mantle consistent?

What has me really interested is what DX looks like on the same system in the video Sugar posted; Sugar, is that your video? If so, can you do a DX run on the same map?

No its not. I had my own video ready but i had an accident so i give up with mantle review atm. I will just say a thing. Metro with dx is unplayable for me.And i dont get the point of the dips. Dx11 is already at 50 fps and its already cpu limited(not really cpu limited mostly dx limited). If you see mantle gets dips with many effects (grenades smokes) that means the gpu is not strong enough to handle this kind of fps. Dx11 is just under 60 fps all the time so you cant really say whats wrong there

You await? You seem to defend AMD with your life, even when people show you you're wrong, you still try to twist things around. Then you show "proof with no citation, that just contradicts your silly arguments.

This video highlights one of my original points, frame rates plummeting in Mantle. At 4:10 in the video you see Mantle drop from 140 FPS to 71 FPS, yet the DX version doesn't do this, it only changes a few FPS. The biggest thing of note about the drop is there is nothing going on, he is just swimming down a canal and a dude runs past towards the top of the screen.

Then at 4:13 there is a MASSIVE frame timing spike, that actually maxes out the frame time chart.

What I am getting at is the original video in this thread is more than shady and has glaring issues, it should be dismissed. Also, Mantle isn't the God Send that people are claiming it to be, there are easily demonstrated issues; mainly around stability.

Yes I await. it is quite amusing.

Lol where did I post proof with no citation? I posted an example of proof of frame time.

Anything else?

Well, you didn't have to wait long, I don't keep my fans waiting. My reply is just above yours.

Also, your single photo was not an example of proof, as it lacked any source or very pertinent information. Like who, what, where, when.....

Who did it? What was it done on (cards, system, driver version)? Where was it done? When was it done?
