Probably the same thing they have done with it for the last 10 years.

TWC has no integrity whatsoever; none of the big cable companies do. Can't wait to watch them twist in the wind when Fiber comes to town. biggrin.gif

Is it only for Austin proper or does it include the surrounding areas that austin has absorbed?

Round Rock/Pflugerville/Cedar Park

Only central austin ( Dtwn to about airport blvd ) and some of the nicer areas out by the lake.

its pretty much on a street by street basis. You might not can get it but your neighbor or the house across the road can. Its here, I just don't know of anyone who actually has google fiber.

I actually worked at a firm doing all the layout design for all this type of stuff, and really there is no rhyme or reason why you may get it and your neighbor can. really, it just comes down to the guy who places the hub, if its easier for him to draw the box on your nighbors or across the street, then thats where it goes first.

Yeah, ok. I won't see any substantial speeds then. My uncle lives in a fairly new subdivision in Georgetown/Round Rock.

yeah i'm at mopac and 183 ( near the google building oldly enough ) and I can't get it. But grande bumped my speeds for free, and then later I called them and they lowered my bill and bumped me to their top package of 100mbs down, and I typically get about 115 down.
I called TWC earlier this week to fix some issues with billing, at that same time the customer rep told me that this area (Dallas area) would be getting boosts as well. The 20Mbps service would become 100Mpbs and the 70Mbps service would become 300Mpbs for the same price. As to when it will come, who knows? tongue.gif

They can up the speeds all they want. Every time I call and complain about my connection dropping and having half the advertised speeds they tell me that those are advertised peak speeds and that reliable ping isn't guaranteed or implied.
