I very much doubt that. You probably didnt benchmark same place or length as i did. Here are results with 90secs bench (above posted are ~8sec shorter) :

MSAAx4
Frames: 4586 - Time: 90000ms - Avg: 46.300 - Min: 32 - Max: 66

MSAAx8
Frames: 3752 - Time: 90000ms - Avg: 38.344 - Min: 27 - Max: 54

FXAA
Frames: 6054 - Time: 90000ms - Avg: 59.222 - Min: 38 - Max: 87

I made a mistake by manually stopping benchmarks in first tests. This is easy to recreate.

Here is one with SMAAx1 for comparison with this results on img:
Frames: 5236 - Time: 90000ms - Avg: 58.178 - Min: 34 - Max: 84

Did the same run that was used to obtain results above.

Crysis 3 is among the few games that run well on FX and 6300 is trading blows with i5 in this game. Its also pushing r9 290 at 100% just fine so there is no bottleneck.

oh, you are using 1200 rez? i'm using 1080. i play C3 with a single 290 at stock maxed - Very High and 8MSAA. with the 7970 stock - Very High and 4MSAA. Paired with an i7 @ 4.5GHz.

edit: your FS overall score is closer to my oc'ed 7950 . . .

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/145184

here is my 290 oc'ed the same . . .

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/2611768

14.2 is putting a damper on benchmarks but works great with BF4 mantle.

This is Root of all Evil with a 7970 stock and i7 4.5 at Very High 4msaa . . .

those were mostly indoors, though.

Im using 1080 as well , but that 1200p bench was the closest thing i could find.

My r9 290 has more graphics score then yours in FS, which is what should be looked at, not combined score.
Pair that 7950 with fx6300 and you wont get near that combined score without serious OC.

Well, that explains it, my bench is outdoor at heavy rain. That part is one of the most intensive parts of the game.
Here is my indoor benchmark at 1080p
MSAAx4

Here is an updated benchmark for Metro Last Light @4.5Ghz

I ran first benchmarks without performance patch for AMD cards doh.gif

i ran the bench again using 13.11 and now are scores are even . . .

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/2619608

14.2 does slow down are gpus a bit. i think it has to do with powertune.

you gonna have to use 4msaa or oc your cpu more. that 29 min is not playable.

I did use MSAAx4 since i saw no difference between it and MSAAx8. I suspect that that min fps is right when i start benchmark since i then experience slight stuttering for a sec (any settings). After that it runs smooth.

While i played almost all the time with x4, i did occasionally switch to x8 and it was playable.

Don't know about 14.2, i don't have Battlefield so there was no point to use those drivers, plus i don't like beta.

Hi guys, all this debate make me curious. So this is my C3 bench

Fx 6300 - 4.8
R9 290
14.2 B
Root of all Evil (from when you fall with the elevator till when you take the elevator to the dam - only outside)
MSAAx4 - 1080p

2014-03-09 09:33:58 - crysis3
Frames: 21256 - Time: 433047ms - Avg: 49.085 - Min: 26 - Max: 99

Another thing. In my opinion this is the best part for gpu bench but for cpu the second mission - Welcome to the jungle - is the most intensive. When you are in that grass field the cpu get destroyed and I actually see bottleneck.

you have to tweak your settings to maintain above 30s minimum. 35 is cutting it. 20s? you won't win any matches.

edit: btw, i do not recommend 14.2 beta other than for BF4/Mantle. try 13.11 or 13.12 and test again.

26 is like only for a second or even less. Is unnoticeable.

in SP it might work. in matches - doubt it. like i said, you won't win matches. hard to move.

edit: i know there is hardly any difference between 4MSAA and 8MSAA but i used to play the game with a 7970 stock at 4MSAA, so it is kinda weird to play the same settings with a 290.

In the first place you sound like I play the game with 20 fps. I said 'seconds' .
Secondly on C3 in MP mode I got 10-15 more fps that in SP. Yes the MP is more light on GPU and even on CPU on this game.
Thirdly, for example in a hard MP game like B4 I play with vertical sync on and the fps is locked on 60 with very few exceptions when it drops to 30s. So you say that some few seconds with 30 make the game unplayable?
