fx 6300 + r9 290 benchmarks - Page 3

Thirdly, for example in a hard MP game like B4 I play with vertical sync on and the fps is locked on 60 with very few exceptions when it drops to 30s. So you say that some few seconds with 30 make the game unplayable?

i said in C3 you want to maintain above 30. ideally 35 min fps. the maps i played, dipping below 30 is unplayable.

we can pair a 290 with a 6300 and a 7950 with an i7 in these games. they will share the same settings. similarly, when i had a 7970 with a thuban and the i7 with a 7950 there was a game benchmark that the former beat the latter.

Here is a MP bench

Fx 6300 - 4.8
R9 290
14.2 B
Chinatown - Crash site
MSAAx4 - 1080p

2014-03-09 18:51:40 - crysis3
Frames: 38132 - Time: 636672ms - Avg: 59.893 - Min: 45 - Max: 77

Now I don't think is the hardest map but it doesn't felt hard to move at all. Anyway I agree with you but only in Welcome to the jungle level; that grass field destroy my cpu and a powerful cpu surely helps.

that's perfect fps. yes, that map is not taxing. try williamsburg with 8msaa.

I believe it should be around the same performance, maybe a bit more then 290. But not all games support 2 gpus so selling 7870 and getting 290 might be a better option. Also 2 7870 will use more power then single 290.

Interesting stuff, nice numbers right there thumb.gif

I built my rig around the same CPU and I spent around $200 extra for a second GFX card.

AMD FX-6300 @ 4.4Ghz (Arctic Cooling Freezer A30 - 120mm)
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
Gskill 1866 2 x 4096 MB
Corsair Force LS 120 GB
2 x CLUB3D Radeon R9 270 Royalqueen 955GHZ 2GB 5.6GHZ
Zalman Z9 Plus case 4 x 120mm fans
Thermaltake 750W PSU

When I run the Unigine bench the cards were @ 1050/1400

It is actually called lack of optimisation wink.gif
