Build List

"*" indicates already obtained

Case:
CaseLabs TH10 Case*

Cooling:
3x 480mm Radiator (*1)
8X Corsair Fan Twin Pack (*1)
2x Alphacool Universal Pump Mount*
2x FC9B 4 Channel Throttle Control Operation Fan Controller [Still debating]
2X EK-D5 Vario X-TOP - Plexi Pump
EK HD Acrylic Tube
EK-FC Bridge System QUAD Semi-Parallel
2X EK-FC R9-290X (Original CSQ) - Nickel
2X EK-RES X3 250
EK-PSC Adapter 90° G1/4 Nickel
EK HD Adapter 12/16mm Nickel
EK HD Adapter Female Nickel

Main Components:
ASUS Rampage Extreme IV Black Edition
2X XFX R9 290X*
Intel Core i7-3820 3.60GHz OC @ 4.75GHz*
Microcenter 128MB SSD*
2 TB Storage Drive*
Corsair CMD16GX3M4A2800C11 (4x4GB)
Thermaltake 850w PSU*

Once build has been assembled I will likely add at least one additional R9 290X with EKWB Block, as well as a second TT 850W PSU.

I ordered the TH10 Case from Case-Labs. Decided to go to Microcenter yesterday and they had a Swiftech MCR420-QP for 75 bucks. Going to order 2 more in the coming weeks ahead. Also got 4x Corsair fans (2350 RPM)

Debated going all out with Pumps that have USB interface but I think that's not only a tad expensive and unnecessary, but slightly outside of my comfort level as far as setup goes.

Here are the first pictures. More to come as I get things in order.

Pump mounts arrived. They hang out a bit much, so I will have to get a dremmel and trim them down and file them and polish them back up. Also, 2 fan holes on the radiator weren't machined properly and I will have to drill them out to fit the two screws that hold the fans in place. Lastly, once all that is done I'll likely mount the pump mounts on the middle two fans.

I am waiting on Case Labs TH10 to ship.

Also decided to go with a different fitting for 90° bends.

Someone (not here) Asked why I would mount the pump mounts on top of fans instead of on other side of radiator. Answer: I am going to run 8 fans per Rad. So the pump mounts would be straddling fans regardless of where I mount it.

The CaseLabs TH10 arrived today.

As you can see, excellent build quality. I will note however that in addition to the case, I also ordered an HD Caster set, an SSD Mounting Kit and a PSU mounting kit. None of those were packaged. I sent CaseLabs an email this morning, but as of yet have not heard back. I am hopeful that they resolve this soon.

In addition I also got a few items at my local Microcenter this morning. I'm trying to support my local community the best way I can by purchasing any parts locally here in Kansas City. On this trip I purchased the following:
-ASUS Rampage Extreme IV Black Edition LGA2011 Board
-Swiftech D5 Pump
-Bitspower D5 Pump Top
-2 Bitspower 250 Reservoirs
-2 Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition Twin Packs (4 fans total)

At the end I will post my updated build list, as some things have changed.

I began by mounting the board, ensuring it fit. And it did like a glove! I also mounted the OC Panel which you can see in a few pictures below.

Next I unpackaged the pump and installed the Bitspower Pump Top:

I then installed all the fans to the new radiator. I decided to go with the red rings for now, since the ASUS Board has hints of red. Originally I had wanted to run with White Fluid, like project N.V., but I am now rethinking that. In the end there will likely be 2 different colors anyway, one for the Board, Memory and CPU, and another for the GPUs. One the radiators, the first one is the exact same model, but due to a manufacturing defect, I will have to drill out 2 of the fan mounting holes on the radiator.

Time to screw in the bottom fans and radiator to the case:

Below are the 2 Bitspower 250ML Reservoirs:

Now some final shots of the work so far:

OK. Been a couple weeks. A lot has moved forward, some minor changes, and some not so minor. Keep in mind this is the largest and most intricate build I've attempted to date. Again, at the end of this post I will attempt to add a revised build list. Some stuff has changed a few times, so bear with me.

Below are additional fans, 1 Swiftech D5/MCP655 Pump, 2 Bitspower Pump Tops, Corsair Dominator Platinum (4x 4GB DDR3 2133) and two primo chill fill ports that are ****ty, so they probably wont find a home in the TH10.

I used Corsair Air Series AF120 Red LED fans for the front panel. They operate at 1500 RPM Max, so quite a bit quieter than the 16 Air Series SP120's that are mounted on the Rads and on the top left panel. Once I get around to it, I will put them on controllers. Not a critical mission priority at the moment.

Time to mount the second pump. I did make the decision to go with 4 pumps, for various reasons. However, Microcenter only had 1 in stock, so the other 2 are on order.

Now for a closer look at the memory:

And the CPU:

Now lets get the fans installed on the top rad:

And here's the Beefy Ass PSU:

I put in my 2 old GTX 670s to perform the first system test. For CPU cooling I used my old H100i(?).

Cross your fingers and hope to die right?

Yay! All parts were alive, nothing DOA. I didn't spend a lot of time playing around or configuring. I did confirm that all four sticks of Ram were working. I then got curious and pushed them to 2400MHz. No problem booting.

All other parts are on the way. Here's the build list:

2 of the last remaining 6 or so shipments came in. Above is my revised routing plan. Figuring out the fittings in this was a bit of a dilemma, since fittings suited for rigid tubing aren't common place, especially ones that are 90 degree. I actually ordered a wrong batch of fittings from Dazmode.com before realizing half of what i needed wasn't just a rotary 90 degree connector but 90 dgree rotary connectors with g1/4 threads on the end. So do note, if ever ordering multiple fittings, ensure you are 100% certain of your tube routing and precisely what fittings that loop will encompass.

Now I have had several friends ask me why not bend the tubing instead of spending an insane amount of cash on fittings? Well, 2 reasons. I don't feel adept enough to bend the tube. But more importantly I just don't appreciate the aesthetics of bent clear tubing. fittings look much sharper in my opinion.

Tomorrow the water blocks, sleeving kit, tubing, etc should arrive, so I will post more then, assuming I bother with it.

Some fittings came in:

All pumps are now in & mounted:

Starting some of the tubing routing, but will be handicapped until rest of fittings arrive:

And now what I have especially been looking forward to: EK FC Block Intall on my 2 R9 290X's:

And the Bridge:

Looking good so far!

Have you seen/thought of polishing your EK blocks? I think it makes them even sweeter but they look nice either way.
