Which 1000W PSU to choose - CM; Seasonic; EVGA - Page 3

I would go with the V1000 due to the fact that the fan is larger and more quiet

Its also the KM3 with the least coil whine

Noise wise, how quiet is the Cooler Master V1000 ? Say compared to a Seasonic 1000W Platinum. Will i be missing the Hybrid fan mode when the PSU fan doesn't spint at low loads ?

Wow, awesome thread shilka ! Very informative and easy to read !

One thing eludes me tho :

Based on the photos in your thread,

Pros of CM V1000 :
- Better 5V Regulation
- Better 3.3V Regulation
- Higher quality fan

Pros of Evga Supernova 1000G2 :
- Better 12V Regulation
-Cheaper

Which is more important : 5v, 3.3V, 12V regulation ?

i can find good prices for the 1000watt range for seasonic, thing is where do you live? states? canada?

i would go for seasonic though, they manufacture alot of corsair psu, if i knew then i wouldnt buy my ax1200 thumb.gif
i got it cheaper though when it first came out

if you live in uk get the 80+ gold, or look at quiet powersupply, i think they are german and germans make the best stuff, i have a few grinders that are german made and so much better than US counterparts, the handles never wear down,

AX1200 is not made by Seasonic

And Seasonic does not make most of the Corsair units in fact almost all of them are made by CWT not Seasonic

I own both theseasonic 1000 platinum and the CM V1000 and both are silent below 250w, hear the fan at 500w but i cant pull much more than that so i dont know of noise above 500w. I boxed the SS as its the larger of the two and a bit ugly. CM has nicer cables, longer cables and nicer looking housing.

Think i've decided and i will be getting the CM V1000 due to its relativelly small size, excelent build quality and quiet + high quality fan.

Out of curiosity, which is more important : 5v, 3.3V, 12V regulation ?
