Well I appreciate your willingness to test I gave you +1 for that, wish we could see it with a more high end system but it's also a bit sad to see dual graphics go to waste in your system given the chipset is technically capable just something is preventing it from doing its job, probably cpu bottleneck or most likely that 2gb of ram since the APU shares memory with the system it reasonably couldn't allocate that 512mb to graphics

I could try snagging some RAM out of my main rig and test dual graphics again if you think it would make a difference.

I dont know if it would but it would be interesting to see if you have the time to try it out thumb.gif

I have some parts coming in for my main rig either today or tomorrow, while I have the main rig down for leak testing I will throw 8gb dual channel 2000mhz ram in and see if I can get the frame pacing fixes to make sense.

Awesome man I look forward to seeing if there is any performance increase with dual graphics, I would hope to see at least some improvement otherwise they might as well not even allow the option if it provides 0 benefit at all, i mean really it's a waste of everyones time and money to have pushed a technology that was effectively useless

Well I posted on toms hardware requesting they update this benchmark http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/dual-graphics-crossfire-benchmark,3583-10.html and within minutes my post got removed and I received the subsequent message and I replied.. waiting for a response.

I'm not one for conspiracy theories but has AMD put out an NDA preventing hardware review sites from displaying frame pacing on anything but kaveri & r series gpu's? It would appear so.

No, what is happening is that you are seeing is low end old tech computers not getting the same attention as the latest and greatest. The tech industry moves fast, and the hardware is left behind. No waterblocks in the mail today, hopefully tomorrow you will have more answers.

I understand that I guess I just don't see the rationale in removing the request, it's not like Im asking them to turn water to wine or something, the review they put out regarding Richland was less than 6 months ago and that platform suffered from the same issues, I can understand not testing Trinity and definitely understand not wanting to test Llano again but it just feels like im banging my head against a wall trying to get the people with the proper testing methodology to just update the review with the new drivers but I digress, you can't win them all I suppose.

any luck in getting tests to confirm that frame pacing is working on the older dual graphics setups. dual graphics was actually the major selling point when i bought my llano laptop so it be disappointing if amd didn't deliver on what it promised frown.gif
post #20 of 25
some one from my llano laptop owners club tested 14.1 in dual graphics and claimed frame stuttering was reduced through overall frames where down. amd has already released the 14.3 beta so maybe i should test out some results. I have deus ex human revolution and bioshock infinite to use as benchmarks
