[RETIRED] Battlefield 4 Frame Time Analyzer ~ Version 4.2 Released (Major Release)! - Page 14

If anybody has any new questions of version 4 of BF4 FTA, let me know, I realized the new graphing technique is missing a label.

Those performance graphs are FPS.

So it is plot points of all the frame times, of your choosing, and it creates color bands based on the concepts of Good FPS, Okay FPS, and Bad FPS.

For example, these numbers represent:
Above 110 FPS = Green
Between 110 and 90 FPS = Yellow, Median set to 100 (not currently used.)
Below 90 FPS = Red

Produces a graph like this:

VERSION 4.1 RELEASED! (Perfectionist Edition)

Download:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/84v4snq7bq0tm6k/BF4_Frame_Time_Analyzer_v4.1.zip
Note: As far as I have know I have made this completely international.

Changes:
  • Queries created, find out the info for your FPS or ms Frame Time on your own.
  • No percentages above 100%, logic corrected to handle throwing out rows of data.
  • Performance Graphs! Very cool plot points based on thresholds assign by user. Screenshot above!
  • GUI Tweaks. It was getting a bit messy, so I cleaned it up.
  • 4.1: More GUI Tweaks, added a few labels to things not so intuitive.
  • 4.1: Chart / User Titles apply to both types of graphs I tried to further separate them so it didn't appear linked to only one type of graph.
  • 4.1: FPS band section label "Yellow" renamed to "Median". Functionality to be add at a later date.
  • 4.1: Fixed Charts mysteriously adding a -1 to all X-Axis graphs. Very odd behavior indeed.

Another Announcement:
I have started my own website, I will be pushing my development on to it as well as most of my technical experience. I will post updates and such but will probably host downloads and information from my site.

Be cool if you did something like cpu-z and made a verification page for submissions.
Maybe hook into CPUZ and GPUZ to get the specs of the PC and graph from frame times.

WOLF in my sig is like CPUz, but will eventually do everything OS related.

Frame time capturing though is a very very different hardware level accessing software .

Thanks the9quad.

I have been banned from Anandtech Forums for posting BF4 - Frame Time Analyzer over there. With their own link to download and a link here to my OCN thread just in case they need info or maybe get in touch with me.

A free program, for free, for helping gamers analyze their frame rates, and the only way I know of other than spreadsheet for Mantle users.

I get this:

After posting my latest update to the software.

After trying several channels to contact them, I just created a new account. Posted in the help section, hey I have been banned. Can I ask why?

There was a lot of back and forth, all polite with another mod, who put me in contact with this guy.
Quote:
Hi Titanwolf,

I am the one who banned your account under RagingCain. There were reports received from other members indicating your posts were spam; they looked like spam, and after searching the RagingCain user name on the web I found many other posts that looked similar at other forums, all of which pointed to spam. Hence the ban.

After further deliberation and discussion, we have decided that you are not trying to spam us, but are just a little misguided in your posting habits.

It is important to note, that as per our forum rules, we do not allow posts or threads that are for the sole purpose of promoting your product/software/website/whatever. What we do allow is a simple link in your signature leading to your site or software. So while we no longer consider you a spammer, your posts were still against the rules.

However, if you can agree to following those rules I indicated above (the full forum guidelines are here: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=60552 ), I will reinstate your RagingCain account and merge it with your Titanwolf account. Then you can update your signature and return to posting as a regular member.

I do apologize for the hassle, but you must understand that the volume of posters and spammers we deal with can be quite taxing; sometimes regular users are erroneously caught in the middle.

Please PM me back if you require further clarification on anything.

Regards,

Anandtech Administrator
KeithTalent

My Response:
Quote:
I understand about the sheer volume of douche bags online, but perhaps a little more scrutiny, by say, actually visiting Overclock.net where I do most of my tech support, have a substantial investment in time, and a high reputation. One of my programs is in STEAM's green light initiative for gosh sakes. Not to mention I am giving my software away from free, which is obviously a "so screw me right?" moment meme, you could easily and clearly tell that.

Secondly, your rules are not easily visible, hosted in a forum sub-section I probably would never have gone in. Perhaps visiting your FAQ (which I did) would be a great place to have, a frequently asked question of "What am I not allowed to post?" Though that is not fault to you. I will take responsibility for not finding them.

Thirdly, the rules themselves (according to you, I don't quite see a rule against posting software links at all.) This is your website, you do with it whatever you want, however, perhaps you need to visit the "Software for Windows" sub-section and shut it down. There are a ton of threads with links "promoting" certain pieces of software. Because I did no different than the majority of those threads, difference being, I am the developer. Only re-posting/bumping a thread, when there was an update. Do I recommend my program? Well yes, they are damn good programs both of them. Am I web-crawling spam bot telling you how it changed my life promoting it? No, I posted the links, screenshots, and release notes. Define how it was "promoting" other than posting when it has been updated.

Now that I have been able to read your Forum Guidelines, may I draw your attention to:
Quote:
3) Banning a member (permaban) ? Members who have had many warnings and multiple vacations for the same offense, heavy spammers, bad traders, or those who have violated one or more US laws are eligible for a permanent ban from the Forums. Permanent bans will not be given lightly and only as a last resort for members who severely disrupt the community. Beyond usernames and email addresses, we may also ban IP addresses. Only Senior Moderators are given permission to permanently ban a member.

Perhaps define heavy spammers, or next time, issue a potential warning first. I also believe vacations is supposed to "infractions", going off of context.

Regarding the following:
Quote:
There were reports received from other members indicating your posts were spam; they looked like spam, and after searching the RagingCain user name on the web I found many other posts that looked similar at other forums

Listen, I have posted this software in two places, your site, and Overclock.net. There is no point in making this claim, because, I can Google too, results for RagingCain:
The first forum post link in the results is on page 3, 8 links down, and is a link to a piece of software posted on AnandTech.com. WOLF.

Any "thread" update on Overclock.net however, comes up as a "new" separate link on Google.com, while in fact it is all the same link, where I have updated the title.

Fourthly, you have forgotten your own rules of minimum posts needed to have a signature, which is where I would have been more than happy to include, as I have done on Overclock.net.

FYI, posting announcements that there is an update to a piece of software is not spam. The fact that I have to post in two places and made similar post really is a no brainer, I will generally copy and paste.

I may have just sucked it up, dealing with this, but then you have the nerve to tell me I have "misguided" posting habits after you made the mistake of banning me, with absolutely no substantial proof I am a spammer. Just the same user name profile showing up a variety of websites, because I use the same user name.

Don't worry Keith, I have better things to do. Suffice to say, I will not be directly posting on your site anymore. I took the time with this post and specifically wanted to talk to you and perhaps convince you to do a better job so that you don't actually ban someone worthwhile next time.

You know one thing I do think would be useful? The ability to compare 2or 3 csv files, and graph on the same graph with different colors for each. Not that I am complaining, it would just be handy when benching to compare mantle vs dx or 1440p vs 1080p etc..

That would be nice.

We just keep adding things for him to do, don't we? smile.gif

Edit: And big thanks, RagingCain, for all the effort.
