[Newegg] Thousands of Newegg Products Now Available in the United Kingdom and Australia - Page 15

UK is very good at returns. I doubt you can easily do "I didn't like it for the 20 days I use now, take it back and give me all my money" in other countries. That national policy you have would sound ridiculous elsewhere.

Save over 100 dollars by going with newegg. No added taxes till you hit $1000.00AU.

PC Case Gear $848.00 AU - Newegg.com $743.95 AU

Newegg states 4-7 business days for postage, im guessing items come from an Australian or Asian region warehouse.

Smaller items you can save money on.

Shoot, I'd spend the extra 5 bucks on shipping and get it a whole lot quicker.

Who would purchase expensive goods and have them ship overseas?

1) Expensive
2) May break
3) Cheaper Local
4) Warranty issues etc

I prefer Scan and AMAZON.

I prefer Scan and AMAZON.

Well,

1. Theres plenty of components that are marked up a lot for Australian markets.
2. Theres a chance that even a local postage system can break your package, even US warehouse to US address.
3. Wouldnt be on newegg if that was the case. Just look at my post. Shipping is 16 dollars more and still comes to over $100 off.
4. If you follow the policies the warranty isnt bad, I understand it may be frustrating if you have no backup components. Theres also the chance that the device would get serviced locally and not go back to the US.

It's good to have some competition for our local e-tailers that have free reign over what they want the market to pay.

Pretty much anyone with a brain in AU thumb.gif

Prices most of the time are way off base. Though I agree about Amazon and that's my preferred option (all my GPUs have come from there).

Hey I am from Great Britain, but I would pay £10 more and be safe and sound.

I ordered an NZXT HUE which took two months to arrive in the UK,from Las Vegas.

What is the point of going through all that trouble?

The Newegg shipping to UK thing is a joke, a total waste of time. Check out the posts I made about it the other day:

Whilst Newegg does ship to the UK now (Newegg displays in USD, AUSD and GBP), anytime you click on anything decent it says shipping restrictions:

Shipping Limitations
We are unable to ship this product because:

This product may require a specialty license for export
This product may be classified as a dangerous good
This product may be oversized and/or overweight
This product may exceed monetary limitations imposed by the selected carrier
This product may not be allowed in your country

What an absolute joke.

Also guys just for info, the tax and fees are added to the final price when you add your post code in the cart.

I.e I just added a 4770k just for the fun of it to my cart, price £203. Bargain consdering its £250 in the UK. But once you add your post code, estimated taxy and fees are £42 and £10 postage brings total price to £254.

Nice idea Newegg, just a shame in practice it makes no logical sense to order anything from you whilst we have to pay such high tax and import duty frown.gif

High end NV gpus, high end Intel Xeon chips etc they dont ship any of them. Which in itself is rubbish because they would gladly ship a 3770k or 4770k to me, but wont ship a £700 Intel Xeon chip. So maybe you think ok there is a price limit as to why they dont ship, but no try ordering a cheap £65 GPU from newegg and it says again shipping restrictions.

"Apologies, we cannot ship this item to your country due to the fact you would save money".

So for UK customers we would have our items held at customs till we pay the tax?

If that's the case i don't see it doing so well over here. and foresee a lot of angry customers that don't read the fine print. that and the savings aren't anything to care about.

We (UK) have far better services such as amazon, scan, ebuyer, etc for ourselves.

Unless you save £100 of the final prices, I see no reason to purchase. Newegg should stay local, it is like scan allowing US customers to order. Amazon on the other hand has a variety of items and they also have a few bases here, making it a legitimate seller.
