[Build Log] Snef's Bloody Angel - Page 11

It looks beautiful, man, not pink at all!!Those Spectre Pros made a big impact with the lighting!
You're still going with white-red sleeving though, right?Make the red the more dominant color in the cables IMHO..
Can't wait to see it finished.. biggrin.gif

Wow. It looks even better with cables. What the... I'm usually not that excited by red or white themed builds but this is fantastic. I love it!

The single port top have 2 or 3 mm groove, just the thickness of a EK stop plug of spacing between pump top and res

Fantastic Build! I am building into a Magnum SMA8 within the month, and your build is an inspiration.

I have a question based on your above statement. Is the EK X3 250 Res upside down basically? I don't know of any res caps from EK that have a single port in the middle except the one that is normally on the top. If it is upside down, how sturdy is it in that configuration?

I may use a similar configuration but EK's manual says that port is a fill port only. http://www.ekwb.com/shop/EK-IM/EK-IM-3831109841006.pdf

That is exactly what I think Snef did (res upside down). I don't see any problem with that since Ek states can not be used in the loop while facing up and if you notice on top there is a little acrylic tube within the reservoir (and add on) to allow the top port to be used in the loop. That is my take at least let's wait and see what the builder (or should I say the maker biggrin.gif) says.

I would assume that the manual says that because of the water pouring sound you get if you use it as an inlet without a tube inside the res when it's not full.

Thread Starter
thanks

@JohnGalt, @Gabrielzm and @Flamso

I don't use res upside down,.

I use single port top on bottom to have a center port for better coupling with pump top
and I bought a multiport top, not using multiport bottom,
with multiport top, you have a thread for using a little tube for the inlet port, just need to fill little bit higher than the level of this tube, no noise or air return to loop

Thank you. This clears up everything for me. I thought the stock bottom of the EK X3 had the threads for the internal tube and could be used on the top, effectively making it upside down. Now I realize you must use the multiport top with the internal tube. Cool configuration!

You know it's a damn good build when even the general public drools over it. wink.gif
