Refer to the Naos 7000 review that Ino did for a plot of CPI vs actual CPI

so i got the mouse now, i really like it and i just have one question. For the adjustable LOD if i bring it down to the lowest will it deteriorate the tracking? i have no means of testing this so i was just wondering if anybody knew or could test this
post #1073 of 1929
"It could"

Best to see is to run some tests and see if your max tracking detoriates, etc. I'm one of those weird freaks here that likes high LOD so I wouldn't really know tongue.gif

I'm getting more and more used to the Avior now, and liking it more than the Zowie FK atm shape-wise.
just so nice and easy to grip and lift a little. super nice sensor too. and starting to kind of appreciate being able to rest the top of my palm on it, instead of just finger-tipping it like I've been doing with most of my mice.

about the button discussion, it's just personal preference of course, but one of the things I didn't like about the FK was the super hard buttons. tongue.gif

and LOD: I have not yet noticed any differences in tracking. no jitter, no difference in lag or anything like it. could be more surface-dependent of course.
LOD isn't extremely low even on the lowest setting, but definitely good enough for me. took me a little while to get used to because the Zowie FK has such a low LOD.

Hey Metal, have you asked Mionix anything smoothing related? If not can you? I'm interested in knowing if the 3310 has variable smoothing like Logitech claims with their new G402's versions of their AM010.

I think skylit said that it's not possible with the 3310 (which is a LED 9800 basically), AM010 and 3366 are the first to have variable smoothing.

Not if the mouse can still track the pad at lower settings. That is the only problem with low LOD, you have a potential for "dropout" areas of your pad to not track while the rest of it does.

I asked once but they didn't reply about that in particular. All I know is that I can aim more precisely on the lower CPI steps. Whether that's all in my head is still up for debate.

Far less then the 3090 sensors.

With some 3090 mice I even had problems selecting a single pixel in a 2D environment. With the 3310 (Avior/FK1) I did not have this problem. You might still "feel" a mild bit of processing but it's not affecting precision.

I wasn't asking if it had smoothing at all. I was asking if it was variable like on the G402. Logitech claims zero smoothing below 2000CPI but a small amount when you go higher than that. I was hoping the 3310 could also pull this off.

Doesn't sound like it from what CPate said. He mentioned lack of smoothing as an advantage their solution had over the 3310.

But the G402 sensor is already a custom SROM and Logitech has shown they have major pull with sensor manufacturers, so I don't understand why they couldn't just go to PixArt and get a 3310 version without smoothing if they really wanted to.
