MIONIX AVIOR 7000 First Impressions/Review - Page 128

Actually using the Avior 7000 now. The software lags for a little any time you confirm changes. Seems nice otherwise. Clicks have a nice feel. Scroll wheel is nice. Definitely an upgrade over the FK1 scroll wheel when it comes to accuracy. Seems spot on every time. Why can't Zowie get that down? I wish the thumb buttons didn't stick out as much or didn't exist on the right side. I have no idea if it'll be any sort of annoyance after hours of use, but my ring finger certainly makes a bit of contact with them. Nice mouse though. Seems to track perfectly on my Artisan Shiden.

Yeah you do notice them on the right side. Even after playing with my FK1 for the past week I noticed them going back to the Avior 7000, but they didn't really become uncomfortable. Also, the software only lags because every time you click apply or ok it needs to write reprogram the mouse. You'll see all of its lights flash.

So just now I noticed that the cursor is moving all by itself! I was reading something and noticed the cursor moving down towards the right bottom corner of the screen from top right, very slowly! I was pretty sure that the cable was somehow dragging the mouse but nah, made sure the mouse was perfectly still! Is this normal with Optical sensors or what?

Did you have strong enough vibrations to make the mouse move, and if so, what sensitivity, polling rate, and surface were you using when it moved?
PTE equipped mice exhibit this behavior from vibrations, but I'm not sure that these new mice with "smoothing" would be so effected...

No vibrations were there, I can assure you that (how's that possible anyway!). I am using 1050 CPI and 1000 Hz of course. I don't change settings unless I am gaming, and the existing settings are at default values, other than scroll wheel speed.

PS: Shall I update the firmware?

One of my other friends is having his scroll wheel supposedly scroll on its own and is also getting what seems like the jump bug. 400 CPI, 1000 Hz, QcK Heavy. Not sure what's going on with that.

With updated firmware?
Also this might be a placebo effect but for past few days I am noticing the cursor movement not as precise / steady as it was on first days, especially on vertical alignment (Y axis), it feels like its jittering too much frown.gif

Not sure but I didn't notice the issue myself. I think it might be possible to downgrade the firmware but I've never tried it myself
