MIONIX AVIOR 7000 First Impressions/Review - Page 139

Hello folks,

So I'm in a bit of a search for a new mouse pad to use with my Avior 7k. Currently I use the Zowie GT-F Speed, and while it's a pretty awesome mousepad, I'm looking something with a little less... speed. ;p A bit of a higher friction cloth pad with similar dimensions.

There are sooooo many. lol. I'm better versed in the XL pads so I'll let someone else give some feedback on that one.

I'm just using a Corsair MM200 XL . Big & fat mouse pads for me. Although it only gets a 60% SQUAT score, not that it means much anyway. I would pony up for a puretrak talent, but the logo & such is quite gawdy.

I've always said that SQAT doesn't mean squat. It's pretty pointless.

The Talent is more understated, or at least mine is, than even I initially thought.

Foe some reason my hard pads consistently get better results than my cloth pads in SQAT. I'm not really sure what algorithm it's using to achieve it's results. My best guess is it is more based on the "uniformity" of the surface rather than the pure "quality" of the surface from a tracking perspective.

They probably copied and pasted the code from their laser models then

I've heard the MM200 has some pretty high friction. If it's slower than the Steelseries QcK then I'll probably hate it.

I haven't noticed that much of a difference to be honest. I had a small QcK before I got my Avior. It's all subjective I suppose. But, from what I've read, the Puretrak Talent is the quickest cloth mat out there.

Talent gets slow over time.

MM200 is slower than the QcK already but apparently also has pretty low static friction. I haven't tried it myself.

Well, that was interesting. I normally don't even use the G440 mouse pad, but just tried this Avior on it and it doesn't work at all haha. The cursor will drift when leaving the mouse stationary on the pad. It also bugs out and loses tracking during movement. Seems to work good on the speed side of a Rocketfish though.
