A question to metal. When you grip the Avior 7k all the way from the front and as low as possible (where the front is the narrowest), does it feel a bit like the G302? Does it feel narrower than the back in terms of relative width? Do you get more control with the Avior 7k, or is it more like FK1 in terms of relative width.

Could have tagged me with the @ symbol to make it easier for me to see this. I guess you could say if I move my hand all the way to the front then yeah it kind of feels like the 302. In the back it's wider feeling though than the 302 for sure. It's just a bigger mouse and feels more cumbersome than the FK1, which is a much thinner mouse that feels more like a pencil. It's pinpoint, and the Avior is much larger in feel. I'm not sure if this answer is helpful as I'm not sure I completely understand what you are asking here though.

Well thanks for the answer. I just really like either a standard front or a narrowed front, such as the G302 or the Rival. I've actually tried the Avior 7k a few times a while ago, but couldn't get used to the front. At the moment I don't remember the specifics anymore (had to return it, had a 2 week return period). Atm I'm testing the FK1 for the second time, but since it's quite low for me I have almost no support in the mid-palm unlike most mice. I cannot find anything that suits me atm (mentioned it a while ago in the FK1 thread that I'm looking around). I have used the original FK for a year or so and back then I didn't have to spam clicks much, and then I found it perfect. However, now, my grip has changed quite a bit and I cannot adapt to the shape of the FK1.
I like the back of the mionix and even though it ticks every box for me, the front feels rather weird and the mouse itself is not the lightest. Definitely has an impact on my performance.

One that I haven't yet tried is the Abby 2014, but I really do like my side-buttons. I guess it's either bad shape, bad coating or without side-buttons, that's what I have to choose from frown.gif.
`
Also, the G402 comes close, but the freaking sniper button, or its hole, is in the way as I am not used to clawing my thumb to the max. I did remove it, and tried to cover up with tape but every tape that I have or know kind of feels cheap, makeshifty and sucky. Plus, most tapes make my skin sweat.

So, TL:DR version -> I asked you how the front feels in the hand for a semipalm grip again since I don't remember anymore. What do you suggest - either trying to adjust to a weird grip or can you recommend some tapes that feel rubbery or matte? Don't know which is worse :X

I have absolutely no clue how to help because I don't even know what that kind of grip looks like. I've never had a problem with the front as it gives a nice leverage by sloping inwards toward the bottom of the mouse.

Well I can't take a pic now but it's sort of a classical palmgrip as far as palm goes, slightly angled \\, while thumb and ring finger and quite straight, with fingers slightly clawed. I kept hitting the right side buttons on the Avior.. but that's all I remember tongue.gif Thanks anyway, I'll see what options I have.

Yeah the Avior just isn't a palm mouse and I can see the G402 sniper button being annoying as hell for palmers. Have you tried a NAOS 7000?

No, but it looks extremely bulky and cumbersome:P Maybe I should.. but I will give the Avior another go, for the last time though. I will from now on write down my impressions of a mouse so I can remember tongue.gif

I think the 3.38 test firmware should also work. Try that.
