MIONIX AVIOR 7000 First Impressions/Review - Page 17

What's the difference between the Avior and Naos? Is it just the shape, nothing else is different, right?

Also, how come most of you are going with the Avior? Is the ambidextrous shape more versatile for all around use?

Not sure which one to get if I go with MIONIX.

I've currently got a Logitech G5 V2 and want to try something better out, been looking for a new mouse for quite a while. I was looking at getting a Razer DA2013 a few months ago, but didn't like what I read about their quality control issues and overall durability of their products.

I kind of use a palm/fingertip grip, but I don't know if that is because of the shape of the Logitech G5 that makes me use those grips. I don't think I am a huge fan of the shape of the G5 tbh. I'd say I liked the shape of my old Microsoft mouse that I had before the G5, which I used a palm grip on that, and to me, that mouse was more comfortable than the G5. No idea what model it was though, as it was an early 2000s Microsoft optical mouse.

I have both and you are correct, only shape is different. The Avior is a bit smaller, lighter, and easier to lift so that's why it tends to be more popular among gamers here. It also feels like the Avior glides a little smoother, but I've only had the Naos for about a week so the feet might not be worn in yet.

In the end it just comes down to shape preferance. The Naos is a one-size-fits-all kind of mouse while the Avior shape can be hit or miss with people.

If you are foremost using a palm grip go for the Naos, the Avior is more suitable for claw grip (due to it's lenght not recommended for finger tip usage for most people) - dependent on your hands you might be able also to palm grip the Avior but in general the Naos tends to be the recommended one of the two.

The Avior 7000 arrived today (ordered last Friday via Mionix website). Everything seems fine, except the packaging has been showered with wine... rolleyes.gif

As for the mouse, i really really like it. At first i thought it is too heavy, after unpacking it. But 30 minutes and two rounds of playing with it later, there is no doubt. This mouse is something special! A (s)avior! tongue.gif I have not tested the Sargas 320, which was also in the package.

The shape/coating is really kind of new/unique. Well done Mionix. thumb.gif

So this is the usual packaging from their webstore? mad.gif

Saving money at the wrong place.

Thanks for the info. Is the Naos strictly a palm grip mouse or can you use other grip methods with it?

Which finger do you measure to, to determine the length of your hands? The middle finger or index finger? I just measured the length from my wrist to middle finger and it's just a bit over 20cm. Would that be considered small, medium or big hands?

The Naos is a lot more tailored for palm grip. You could fingertip or claw it but I would assume the Avior would be better suited for that. Maybe not though, I couldn't say for sure.

Most people seem to measure middle finger tip to wrist. Your hands seem quiet medium sized as mine are as well (19,5 cm). Based on that I would suggest the Naos as your go to option in case you palm grip and the Avior if you claw your mice usually. None of it is recommended in case you fingertip (you might want to look for something more compact and probably a bit lighter).
