MIONIX AVIOR 7000 First Impressions/Review - Page 34

Mionix just needs Razer marketing.... without none of the obnoxious/crappy parts of Razer marketing.

They could just do "Apple" style marketing, but shows how optical sensor is more accurate than laser mice and advertise that somehow. AND kill the DPI=accuracy myth once and for all.

Been using the Avior for a couple weeks now: Build quality is superb; mouse clicks are nice; sensor is great; coating is good.

Having said all that, shape wise i do prefer the FK over the Avior. The FK allows me to make fine adjustments better (i use a claw / fingertip grip). The Avior seems better suited for people who use a very strict claw grip (not a negative, just shape preference).

A 3310 5000 max dpi Zowie FK with omrons would be insane.

Yeah fingers crossed that Zowie will implement the 3310 second half of the year or early 2015!

Zavvi has some crazy sale going - a lot of accessory discounted by 15% including the Avior 7000 - got it now for £52.69!

They also offer some Mionix mouse pads as well as the Zibal 60 (UK layout obviously).

So i got my avior today..
First impressions, this mouse is bigger and wider than zowie fk.. I was hoping it was thinner like fk, but it's not. (for me fk's shape it's perfect
Since i'm a palm gripper the shape it's a bit odd, it's not that comfortable as i thought it was, but it's not uncomfortable also.. There's some space between my middle finger and ring finger that doesn't allow me to feel that comfortable as i would expect. Side buttons don't even bother me at all, after playing 10m i'm already used to them and don't even touch them.
Mouse buttons are very good and crisp, but also super sensitive? For some reason, not only mouse 2 seems to be more sensible as i keep always clicking Mouse button 2, and in gaming it's not good (i bind M2 for jumping).
For now i'm not sure if i'll return it or keep it, it's a mix feeling actually..
I know a new mouse have to get a chance and usually we have to get used to it, but it's just a awkward feeling. (Especially the mouse 2 button being super sensitive)

Sounds a bit odd that the Avior is too big for you if you palm grip. If you would use a (relatively loose) claw grip I could see your point, but for average size hands I would say in general the Avior size should work better if you have a claw grip probably leaning a bit more towards a palm grip while the FK should work better if your claw grip is loose and you use your fingers to a bigger extend to move the mouse, something closer to a fingertip grip.

Then again everyone is different, so I would propose you to use it for a week and if you still don't feel comfortable to return it.

The mouse 2 button is indeed sensitive - I can't really say if it's more sensitive than mouse 1 or if I also am just not used to such sensitive buttons in general (also coming from the stiffer FK) for it to release that easily - usually I tend to have more focus on my index finger, while my ring finger lays comfortable on the mouse button - which from time to time was enough to trigger mouse 2 during the transition phase from FK to Avior.

OP updated with beta firmware. New users of this mouse, if you haven't already downloaded and updated your AVIOR you can do so now. If for some reason the link breaks, PM me and I'll do what I can to fix it.

If you do palm the FK you seem to have very small hands.

I got quite small hands (17cm from middle finger to wrist) and palmning the fk is nothing I can do.
I use a hybrid claw/fingergrip. I claw it and use fingers to extend.

The Avior was to big for me to do this.
The biggest size that I can use comfortable with this grip would be the sensei (raw prefered due to lighter)
And the aviors shape and size make it just a tad to much to do this.

I did love the aviors buttons, coating and I enjoy the low lod sensor.

But for now I will use my kana v2 or savu while waiting for a lighter/smaller profile mouse with a better sensor.
An FK with 3310 and omron or something in the Kana v2 size with 3310 would be so perfect.

I got my avior for 40euro with a coupon so not a big loss biggrin.gif

Shape is for me more important then a tad bit better sensor , can only do so much with a mouse you are not comfortable with.

My hands are 21cm and I enjoy palming the FK.
