I use the Puretrak Talent with my Avior. All I have to say is that that is quite possibly the best low sensitivity FPS mouse/surface combo you can get right now, I know it's perfect for me, like literally perfect.

i got the Puretrak Talent too, but this one isn't fray-proof? the layers do peel off depending where your wrist is, slightly.

idk, I bought mine used and it has barely any fraying at the edges. Also a guy on YouTube did a review on a old vs. new Talent and they both look almost identical. Barely any fray, regardless of lack of anti-fray edges.

Due to your recommendation I got a talent/avior..

I grabbed both the talent and the stealth to see their sizes and which will fit my keyboard tray best, since the talent seemed so huge. Ontrac seems to have stole my avior, it was supposed to be here yesterday. frown.gif

Such a good pad.

Do give us your thoughts when you get the mouse.

Thanks. I think I will get the PureTrak. This should be a good pad for most optical mice, right?

Got any opinion on the mouse itself? Are either of the mice somewhat similar in shape/hand feel to the G5 V2 or IntelliMouse Explorer that I used to use? Is there another mouse that I should look out for instead that hasn't been released yet that might have a closer shape to the Intellimouse? I was actually looking at the Razer DA 2013, but the build quality issues put me right off of that one. Mionix seems like a cut above, just don't know about the shape of either the Avior or Naos.

I guess the main problem is that I haven't really used many mice. The ones I own seem to have lasted for quite a long time. Now that I am thinking about it - How good is the original MX518? I just realized that I still have one unopened in one of my storage containers that I bought years ago as a spare.

Great pad for all opticals.

The Rival is probably more similar to the IME 3.0, you'll have to decide for yourself if you like the Avior shape, really.

The original MX518 is quite dated now and with a stock polling rate of 125 Hz, it's vastly inferior to the G400 that replaced it.

Yes and no.

The G400 both rev 1 and 2 was better.
But g400s not really.

If you use w7 and oc refreshrate the mx518 is better in terms of smoothing.
You still have prediction but some people still want that (mainly the hardcore mx510-518 users)

Still a shame logitech ditched the extremly good g400 for the garbage that is g400s.
3 times the cost and worse in all areas.

But I guess the G400 made them to small of a profit or something due to the very very low price.

If I remember correctly you can also get the MX518 to run at 1000hz by installing the drivers. It was a classic and is still a good gaming mouse even by today's standards. If it isnt too much of a hassle retrieving it from storage then I'd give it a go before buying another mouse.

Since a couple of days the right mouse button seems to show first signs of wear - it's not as crisp anymore as it has been the first weeks I have the Avior in use now. Contrary to the left one, the right button can be pushed further down beyond the point of accentuation and it feels overall spongy in comparison to the left one. Anyone of you guys have experienced similar difference in between left and right mouse button feel? Bit unsure if I should RMA it (have it now roughly 2 weeks) - so far it's no big deal but if I assume it will worsen further over time it would probably be save to return it already now.

Interesting. I thought that the MX518 would be inferior to all variants of the G400. How do you overclock the refresh rate? I might give it a go.

Is the G400s really that bad in comparison to the G400?

Which drivers do I need to install? I might get it out of the box and give it a go.

hmm the Rival sounds interesting if it is that shape. What are the drawbacks of Steelseries mice and the Rival in particular. I read a while back that Steelseries seem to be similar to Razer in regards to their very average build quality.
