Which is interesting, but its probably more duo to the fact that Rival got issues

A week or two ago he showed on stream he was using Rival, but I do think he changes back and forth.

Or simply he likes the Xai shape more while the Rival has no accel issues.
I think he would drop his Rival for a Xai / Sensei shaped mouse without accel issues.

Precision (pixel skip and all that) / Input lag / Jitter / Prediction wise you can't really beat a laser mouse right now. It just feels different keeping accel issues aside.

Theres no miracle in that.. and so far as i got the SS Rep right the Rival issues were introduced with the 3.1.5 firmware. So not sure if you would get the issue upgrading from 3.1.4 to 3.2.0 for example.

The test that gives it away in real world usage is an easy one. Just position your crosshair at an exact spot, aiming down the sight, then line up your mouse with the exact edge of your mousepad. Swipe fast to somewhere else on the pad, then bring it slowly back to the original position. Every single time I do this with laser mice the final position is different. And it's not that the spot I end up in is the same, every time it is a different spot that isn't where I started.
I've done this test before and have almost always noticed a dramatic change in cursor position.

I wonder whether they'll eventually be able to develop a lazer sensor without any perceivable acceleration or deceleration.

I've narrowed my search down to these:

Mionix Naos 7000 (I've gone off the shape of the Avior slightly)
Roccat Kone Pure Optical (if it was slightly bigger I'd be sold)
Logitech G602 (if it were wired I'd be sold)
Logitech G502 (don't want/can't wait)

I think I'm going to buy the Naos 7000 tonight from Mionix. Hopefully they ship to Ireland for free.

By the way, my post was deleted because I swore. I didn't check to see whether I could swear or not. Sorry, mods. This is a repost.

OP Updated with EDIT 4: acceleration test video. It was a request I got via PM and since so many were doing it with the G502 I thought I might as well do one for this mouse.

Turns out a lot of human factors are involved with the whole acceleration testing thing. I feel none in actual gameplay.

just for your information, cs go raw input is bugged. Do it without raw input, maybe it will be different

Explain why raw input is bugged.

I don't think raw input is bugged, except that there is a difference in responsiveness because without raw input the mouse feel is framerate-dependent. It was a lot worse with raw input off. I never had these issues in CSS, I could probably try and retest with that. It has to be either human error or the game engine, it looks a hell of a lot worse in that video than it does in real usage.

Hey, I've been following this thread for a while and I'm thinking about purchasing the Avior. I love the way Mionix runs their company and this mouse might just be perfect for me.

Mice I have owned:

- Zowie AM (hated how the mouse gets wider as it gets closer to the bottom, made it really hard for me to pick it up, didn't like the switches either)
- Zowie FK (liked the V shape more than the Zowie AM shape, but it was too narrow for me)
- Roccat Savu (high LOD, shape was okay but the thumb rest forced me to grip it in a certain way that I didn't like)
- Steelseries Kana v2 (LOD way too high, sidebutton placement probably the worst I've ever seen)
- Corsair M45 (mouse is too wide, loved the tracking and low LOD)
- Logitech g100s (current).

Now, I use a fingertip grip and my hands are pretty big (alot of mice tend to make my hand cramp aswell). The Mionix site mentions that the shape is great for both palm and claw, fingertip isn't mentioned though.
Does anyone here use this mouse with a fingertip grip? How comfortable is it? Also, isn't the mouse a bit on the heavy side for a fingertip grip?

Usually I would just order the mouse and return it if I didn't like the shape, but since I can only buy the Avior directly from Mionix and they're all the way over in Sweden, It'll probably cost me a lot of money to return it if I wanted to.

Me. I use the Avior with a fingertip grip, it is definitely light enough for that. I know what you mean by narrow on the FK, since I have one. This is just right. I don't think you'll have any issues at all with it. I have big hands and I fingertip my mice, it's the only way I can get solid accuracy. Palm is way too coarse grained of a grip and claw is a bit much for my wrist to handle. It's quite a comfortable mouse since the back is /\ shaped and the front is \/ shaped which is what you want for leverage if you lift a lot like me. I lift and throw this thing all over my gigantic Talent and my hand unusually doesn't get tired from it at all, unlike many other mice I've used in the past. Definitely pull the trigger.

Uh, oh this is not good. My Avior is accelerating at some swipe speeds in BF4 now in the same way as in the video. I'm going to try a different CPI. It is actually possible mine might be bad, though that seems highly improbable. I have no clue why this would be happening.

EDIT: did a sanity check, and both my G400 and FK have the same kind of behavior on RAW input. It must be just that my swipes are not even close to uniform. lol
