The mouse is capable. Swap to 400 when you play and to 800 on the desktop. There are no rules. Just play where you're comfortable.

On the 7000 series, DPi above 5001 is not optimal.

I have a Zowie P-TF that i currently use with my Avior and i absolutely love it. The Avior tracks really well and slides smooth as butter on it. Great combo.

I can confirm this since Divine sent me one of his G-TF speeds. It's freaking awesome. The only thing that keeps it from being my main pad is my ridiculously low sensitivity, so I still use my Talent as a primary.

Usually higher dpi = better for high sens players ?

Thanks!thumb.gif

The left buttons are a bit weird placed, for me...i kinda got used with it but at first pressed them a lot biggrin.gif

I got a lot of flak for saying use whatever CPI you want on another thread. What you should do is use the lowest you can get away with, because the sensor is "most accurate" that way. This is coming from some of the biggest experts left on this forum so I trust them. I play on 400 CPI now at 70cm/360. If 400 isn't enough and you are moving more than one pixel per count from the mouse when you move the mouse very slowly, try 800. Some people say 1600 is "native" but really all steps on the mouse are native up to 5000.

Im interested in buying the avior 7000, because my second g502 still has some issues ( it sometimes double clicks, the wheel doesnt register from time to time, the feet arent very convincing and i dont really like the placing of the sniper button).

Unfortunately, theres no way for me to test the shape of the avior before buying, so i wont actually know whether it suits my hand/grip or not.

My hand measures about 20 cm from the base to the fingertip. I attached some phots, so you can see what my prefered grip looks like - its some kind of a claw grip most of the time.

What would you say - is the avior a suitable choice for me or should i look elsewhere?

Thank you!

The Avior is a great shape imo. Your grip looks like a palm grip with a slight claw. The thing with the Avior is most people love it, but there are ones that hate the right side buttons as they do stick out and your fingers can hit them. Whether or not you will like it is totally up to you and no one can answer that for you with honesty.

I use all three grips depending on what i am doing. I have learned that i use more of a claw grip 80% of the time and fingertip when things get heated and i need quick precision. For me the Avior is an awesome mouse.

So yes i do think you will hit the right side buttons with your grip and it may bother you, it may not. They don't bother me.

This mouse seems to have all I want in a mouse. A question about the software... how much customizable is the acceleration? I like a bit of negative acceleration when moving the mouse slowly.

Thanks for the photos Chuck but could you take another photo with a clear view of your pinky at desk level?

Out of interest why did people say low dpi was more accurate? There are a couple of specific situations in which a lower dpi is better: (a) the game doesn't have rawinput so high dpi can lead to negative acceleration (b) the mouse in question performs better on its lower dpi steps. However, I didn't think it was a general rule?

My Naga's scroll died (what a surprise) and I am looking at the avior 7000 or the naos 7000.

I have a couple of questions that you guys might be able to help me answer.

Since, I have a metallic hard pad which I am very happy with, would either of these two mice work best with it?
Also, with regards to the scroll roll button, is it "clickable" and how does it feel? Does it retain momentum scrolling through pages and pages, or does it have a step-like scroll?

I'm looking to place the order asap as I am stuck with a ****ty mouse, so please help me.

Something about being closer to the resolution of the sensor array. Doesn't matter if all the steps perform the "same." Supposedly...
