MIONIX AVIOR 7000 First Impressions/Review - Page 96

Side buttons were no issue for me, but this was the most uncomfortable clunky mouse i've ever tried to transition to. I eventually had to give up and returned it to amazon.

Too heavy, too much bulge where the mouse meets the base of your palm. Aside from the fact that I could not accurately click anything in a game - the weight and the shape was killing my wrist after 10 mins.
I have more of a fingertip grip where I stabilize the mouse with the base of my hand and do 90% of the finer work of the mouse with my wrist. Went back to my FK for the time being, but the scroll wheel and coating are starting to act up after only 4-5 months on it. Seems we can't win with any product these days.

What i would do for a lightweight comfortable ambi shaped mouse with 2 side buttons and a scroll wheel that lasts more than 3 months.

Kana v2 is pretty similar in feel shape wise to the FK. Not exactly the same, but probably the closest you'll get.

Not to poo-poo your opinion, but I've NEVER had a Zowie mouse wheel go bad. They are an optical encoder, so the indention marks on the mouse don't actually mark the steps that the mouse will scroll. They're just an approximation. Some people take this as a sign that the wheel is dying, but that's just the nature of the technology it's using. If you don't like that, then you need to find a mouse with a mechanical encoder. They're all over.

As for you not finding accuracy with a 3310... I got nothing. You're the first, unless you count Max, and like a crotchity old man, he hates anything that wasn't built twenty years ago.

I don't think he is bashing the sensor but the shape and weight. I agree it with him that it feels a bit clunky, also I think it feels heavier than it really is. But the m1 & m2 buttons are great imo.

I don't have issues with the encoder... the scroll steps are fine - however the plastic guide or whatever it sits on within the body seems to wear abnormally fast. This happened on my EC2, both my FK at home and at work and always after 4-5 months. It just feels like the plastic is degrading and binding - buying a new mouse it feels exact and smooth again. The coating is what it is... we all know thats a problem with the FK.

As for the 3310 - I thought the sensor was good, but I was more talking about the ergonomics of the mouse. It is awkward and clunky to me - not very apparently at the desktop, but my wrist would cramp, and trying to play games like dota2, i felt like I was given a mouse for the first time all over again. I kept falling over to the other monitors, couldn't accurately place the pointer... i dunno just felt horrible like wearing a pair of heavy clunky shoes or something lmao. Something tells me that a 3310 in like the generic body of a FK, or something IMO-shaped would be a heck of a mouse.

I guess im more sensitive to weight than I thought. Guess i need to find something down in the 90g range like the FK or a Savu. I sold my savu to a friend when I got the FK - might be regretting it i dunno.

I got ya. Sorry you didn't have a great experience.

The Zowie stuff still baffles me. I've got over 14 Zowie mice and outside of a mis-scroll now and then, I've never had an issue. I have two of the first run FK '14's so I feel you on the coating problems.

Issues aside - the FK is still the only mouse I'm really willing to use. At least I can say I gave the Avior a try - it sounds likes its been a solid mouse for a lot of people.

Would still use my FK if it were not for the hard buttons.
It's just to annoying in moba where you spam the button a milion times.

Love the fk shape ;/

Does anyone know if Mionix plans on designing more shapes for future mice? I would love if they came out with a slightly smaller Avior like mouse. I just noticed they have always made their two shapes of mice (avior and naos). Anyone seen any info on if they have considered this for the future?

Someone shared a rumor recently that they were working on new shapes. No hint at what those shapes were though. I would hope something smaller as well.
