Now people here however are gonna complain about an 8 gig video card?

Some people would buck at being hung with a new rope. rolleyes.gif

+rep. So many people rolling 16 gb of ram in their 3-4 tb storage computer, and then complain about a card with 8 gb of ram, and fabricate a $1K MSRP as if it will cost anything near that. It probably won't even cost $800. The Lightning 290x sells for $750 and it is no doubt the strongest Hawaii board on the market with the right cooling, even in our bloated MSRP world.

It will be a useful thing for UHD eyefinity setups too: Did people not see the "Thief" memory usage info that some user posted? The Titan and the 290x are both knocking at 4 gb's outer limits...

8TB in storage here wheee.gif and yes, I do need that much

But I agree, there is a place for 8GB VRAM in this world. Textures are just getting bigger. My heavily modded Skyrim easily uses 3GB of memory

so this card is like amds own version of the titan, wherein the titan had double precision and some other stuff, good for those scientist, architect people

It appears that a few non english websites and Sapphires own Facebook Technology Club page is stating that the 290X (Toxic & Vapor-X) will not have 8GB of RAM. sadsmiley.gif

They may likely keep it for the FirePro or even the Toxic models.
