With power supplies there's always the chance of a pop. Even if you get what's considered the absolute "best". It could be solder dripping where it shouldn't, some glue touching something it shouldn't, a bad cap or transistor, a bad transformer, etc.. It happens every now and then.

The thing that makes the whole difference is if it's gonna take your hardware with it if it pops. That's where an actually "good" power supply shines.

Of course those crappy cheap underspeced power supplies are excluded since they always pop when stretched.

If you dont mind price then get a Delta made Antec PSU those are overbuilt
