mid-range rig surrounding an Asus F1A75-M Pro

Thread Starter
Hey everyone,

First post here, I'm an avid computer user, but a newbie rig builder. I'm looking to build a mid-range gaming/workstation rig based on an Asus F1A75-M Pro motherboard. I've heard really good things about the motherboard and wanted to have a starting point. I'm looking for any suggestions that you guys have regarding processors, PSU's, cooling, and graphics cards--looking for a bit higher end card(s), everything else I can handle. Also I'm trying to keep the budget at < $1000 not including the monitors/OS/Case/peripherals

I'm thinking about:
  • 3 monitors (graphics card suggestions?)
  • AMD A10 or Intel i5/i7 (I don't really see a huge difference other than price)
  • minimum 8 Gb RAM
  • Cooling!? (I have no idea how to tackle this one)
  • PSU (again no idea how to calculate wattage needed)

Please read the FULL post before you throw your ideas out there. Thanks for any suggestions/help in advance!
