Wow that Lian-Li thing really was expensive. I totally didn't notice the price tag yesterday.

Yeah when I got it the case was $250 with all the mods came closer to $1050. However 12 years later I am still using it so it has paid its way I feel.

I will try the Nylon trick, will go to the supermarket and see if I can get any nylon or mesh 8-) For now I guess swifter covers since the old mesh that came with the dust cover reached the OL

Hahaha... Well I knew a few things... My digidoc was dead. I needed something new. Then I felt wow that 10 fan controller is perfect $30... then 3 new fans $50 HD Bay seems FrozenCPu is the only place that sells it and they are sooo expensive $60

So far I am in about $150 + another $190 on a new CPU.

Time in and spending the day here with you guys talking about it: Priceless thumb.gifdrum.gif

Edit: Seeing if I really need to spend $60 for that HD Bay but Frozencpu has the only one in stock and they didnt take the 5% discount from my first order

I could probably also use the other 92mm fan or the top 2 80mm fans above the PSU into he hard drive bay.

you don't actually have to order the lian li hdd cage/fan. i suggested it because you have a lian li case and thought you might want to keep the overall lian li feel to the case. and the lian li product is actually a pretty good design. but if that cage is too expensive/out of stock you can always look for something similar. you can actually go the upgrade route and buy a hot swap enclosure like this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817994155

or get something like the lian li cage but a different brand like this silverstone

or coolermaster

or antec

i know the silverstone can come in silver color, not sure about the coolermaster or the antec tho. obviously as far as theme and color match, the lian li would be the best choice in terms of aesthetics tho.

What is the temp of each GPU from bottom to top?

Side fan is exhaust now? It may be pulling air in from the 3x vents by PCI slots.

We want the 120mm top intake and 3x 5.25 bay 120mm intake. And 3x 5.25 bay intake to have as few HDDs in it as possible for less resistance to airflow... use 3.5 external bays for HDDs too.
actually that depends on who's making the suggestions smile.gif the overall attitude on OCN is "there is no such thing as overkill" smile.gif . HOWEVER, excessive overkill is considered a waste and is generally frowned upon as it shows immaturity and stupidity biggrin.gif good suggestions are always tailored towards the specific build with some room to grow. this is why any suggestion made w/o asking what kind of rig you have are pretty much pointless and should not be followed smile.gif

there are some very specific situations where the recommendation is not a suggestion but a simple answer to a question. those do not require knowledge of the rig in question. this thread is a prefect example of this since the OP only asked a simple wiring question. his "mistake" was providing enough information about his rig that we saw inherent problems that is causing his rig to operate at a sub optimal environment. so... other unsolicited suggestions started pouring in to help resolve the issue.... which was not the original question biggrin.gif

in essence, this thread is a GIANT train wreck of a derail that just kept getting bigger and more expensive biggrin.gif

UPDATE - Got off the phone with EVGA seems that since my Nvidia Control Panel is set to Maximum performance my cards are running at their stock clock at all timesthis means my idle is not a real idle So top card hovers between 48C - 52C Bottom card hovers 46C-50C

Setup right now
Top 120mm is Intaking air - blowing through the center of the case
Rear fans are Exhaust (disabled 2 80mm fans above PSU
Side fans Installed 1 92mm fan Intaking air onto GPU (closed off the top port so I could close the case. let me know if you disagree with this
Next Project - Wed / Thursday I recieve the HDD Rack and will move the Hard Drives from the bottom of the case to the 5.25x bays with a 120mm fan.
Next Project Install a 120mm or 92MM (or combination)fan into the Hard Drive bottom cage to blow air towards the 2 GPU Titans

What are your thoughts? I think the true test is take the other 92mm fan into the top port and see if it makes a difference or just leave it as is.

GPUs are running very close to same temp. This indicates they are all intaking air at very close to same temp. Maybe try blocking the 2x 80mm vent above PSU because any air going out them is probably cool air top intake is bringing in.

Going to shelve this until the Hard Drive bays come in. This way we can do some real testing. With that being said my new xeon to replace my 930 just came in. Lets bench it 8-)
