What the hell is with that engine?!? +Rep!

You can always try and water cool those things but then you really don't need the HDD bay as psyclum already said. If you're up for tinkering for hours on your machine then water cooling is a fun thing. The moment when you first pour liquid into the res and somehow every fiber of your being screams because water just doesn't belong in a machine... priceless biggrin.gif
As for leaks, it sounds scarier than it is. If you're carefully putting the stuff together and don't rush things, chances are good, no flood will happen.

It is expensive though. GPU blocks come at like 90€ a pop if you go for fullcover ones. CPU blocks are a tad cheaper. Then you need a pump, a big rad (or more smaller ones), reservoir, some fittings and a bit of tubing. Stuff adds up quickly, believe me rolleyes.gif
It surely involves cutting open your case to some extent or mount the rad on the outside, thereby dramatically changing the looks towards the abovementioned image biggrin.gif

at this point, your limitation is your motherboard. which means if you are upgrading the board, you might as well go for a haswell based chip too which means complete upgrade of your system. this WILL allow you to use a 3rd titan since the mobo will support the build...

it allows you to use 3 titans w/o cutting into your case. 4th titan if you buy a new case biggrin.gif

Oh I went that route back in sept was going RIVE Black 4930K
I just got in the top 35 for 3dmark P207***, I think my build is good for now at 4800x2560.

I will upgrade the rest come X99

Overclock wise here are the results:

We moved from 928/1000MHZ to 1150MHZ / 3105 on the Titans

CPU overclock to 4566ghz from 2.8GHZ

12GB of RAm @ 868mhz T2

It would be a hell of a lot quieter for one thing and probably still be cooler too. There's also a much better selection in 120mm fans.

And talking about throwing money down, I'd go aftermarket cooling for any GPU. My GPU idles at 30°C and doesn't go past 60°C on max load and with fans spinning 1000 rpm. And you could probably OC even higher.

Like I said, plenty of room for improvement.

So results time.

The most i can get on the gpu is +150, but it's difficult due to the voltage needed and the Temps hit 85c.

I don't see a massive improvement with cooling. Since I also have the titan fans at 100%. Do you think I should put the side fans as out takes.

I plan to take apart the titans and put some artic silver on them to see if that helps. Do I apply to them the same way as I would my chip?

I think my temps should be a lot lower still. I am at 80C. I am going to see what happens if I take the side panel fans and make them outtake.

On another note is there a way to cut metal without a dremel?

That bottom port I highlighted in my photo:

If I were to cut this it would technically make tri SLI more feasible. The last time I did tri SLI temps were hitting 90C since the outtake goes back into the card.

You can yell at it! Besides some other tool that is similar to a dremel, I don't really see how. hmmm what about a can opener?

I doubt swapping those fans to exhaust would help with your temps. Probably make it higher.

Only way to know is try it as see what temps do. Use a remote sensor thermometer to see what the air temp is coming out the vent. and in front of GPU intakes. I have to wonder if having GPU in bottom PCI-E will put it's fan too close to bottom? Causing it to not be able to draw air in?

You could use a drill and center punch. Leave the rivets and metal near them in place to hold case together. Mark a center line and space holes so they make a grill. I would use holes the diameter of the width and leave about 3mm between them. Than drill smaller holes in the space between them and the edge. If the distance between rivets is 58mm than 4x 13mm holes plus another more on each end. Than space some 3mm (guessing) in the remaining large areas. The same idea as the 3x vents by PCI-E slots. wink.gif Drill a small hole first, drill bigger ones being careful tht bit doesn't grab.
