Yet another.... Wait on 290 or shoot for a 780 Ti? - Page 2

If you have a look at the comparison rdr09 posted in #7, no card available today can do 4k or 1200p triple monitor 60 fps even with dual cards.

Triple monitor 1440p is quite a bit tougher than either.

Maybe the next generation from AMD/Nvidia might be able to do it in dual card config but nothing right now can.

Wanted to say thanks to everyone smile.gif I got pretty tired squirming around on deciding on a card, unfortunately I've a git-fiddle on the way now instead... and since my BLT date was pushed back to June, I think I'll wait further into the holiday season for better promotions/deals.

Mmm I think the triple 1440p is doable, easily so tbh as I didn't have any trouble with the reference 290 I had in. Even with the two aux display running and gaming on one of the 1440p panels, I had no trouble. I'm thinking I was getting around minimum 35fps in some newer titles.

Thanks for the comparative charts - I remember spotting some of them during some of my searches thumb.gif

I'm waiting with you. Built my computer last year using an old card with intentions of getting the 290 or 290X but didn't like the temperatures/noise initially or the price hike that has come recently. Might as well wait a bit longer for prices to come back down or Maxwell to come out, which ever comes first.

Whoops, my bad. Gaming on just one monitor would be just fine for a 290.

I was assuming you were going to run all three at the same time for gaming. Major muscle needed there.
