Reinstalling FAHControl, how do I save my account? (forgotten my passkey)

When I installed Folding@Home I set it to run and mostly I forgot about it. I got a nice pile of points accumulated over the past couple of years, but it wasn't through much effort on my part. I just let it run in the background.

I'm running on version 7.1.52 and I've heard that version 7.3 has offered some "big improvements" of some sort. I'm not sure... but I suspect that if I reinstall the client it will forget my previous account. I know that at some point it asked me for a really long "passkey" but that was about 2 years ago and I've completely forgotten what it was... Is there a simple way to save my account so that when I reinstall the client I won't have my score be reset to zero?

Or... are the benefits I'd get in 7.3 not even worth the effort? All the same, I'd still like to know in the event something happens to my computer. If I have to pull a sudden OS reinstallation I'll have to restart F@H from scratch in that event as well. Any help in this regard would be very much appreciated.

Your passkey is linked to the email address that you used. Ask for it again.

By default all of your FAH data (WUs in progress, cores, configuration) should be saved during an uninstallation, whether that's run by itself or as part of an upgrade. Make sure not to check the Data box during the uninstall.

Your points can never be set to zero, as all the accounting for that is run and saved on Stanford's servers. Worst-case scenario is that the credit goes to the anonymous username for a couple of WUs until you figure out that the configuration's not right, and then pick up where you left off with your regular name.

Thank you! I found the place to request it. http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/getpasskey.py

@ Zagen
That's fine if I uninstall the client willingly, but if my computer dies on me one day and I have to restart on a fresh install of Windows the "Data Box" is going to get wiped, whether I want it or not. This way (I hope) should the worst happen I know I'll be able to log in again in the future.

If you didn't get your passkey from Stanford you can find it in the config.xml file, which is located in your FAHData folder.
