BHphoto is junk for video cards. Notice it says it ships in 7-14 days. I called them and they said they should be getting some, that date is tentative. Well two months later they still don't have the cards I was looking at. So grain of salt and all that.

So it's Monday and this card is going to be releasing this week, is AMD gonna just release the card with no press at all or something?

Funny,no one cried when the 7850 and 7870 released for the same price.

No one said anything about the price of the 7950 when it released for $449

The GTX 780 is $520 min
GTX 780 Ti is $699

The Gigabyte Tri X OC R9 290X is $649 on Newegg right now
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125499

The market is returning to normal, time to move on.
No one said anything because these were new cards, with great performance at the time and very competitive.
Guess what, it's 2 years later. The same rules don't apply. Should microsoft release a refresh of the xbox 360 at 400$ with a 256mb memory card because at the time it was good?
Oh and as for the market returning to normal, are you even aware what the launch prices were? 499$ for the r9-290x and 409$ for the r9 290. The gtx 780 has been on sale for 499 a lot, and even now there are many models at 509. The 780 ti can be had for 679-689 and the cheapest r9 290x is 649.99 for the reference model.
The market sucks.
