Gelid cooler on 290X

Thread Starter
Just a heads up, a enhancement kit is coming out for the Gelid coolers on a 290/290X.
Quote:
We will launch a new enhancement kit for the Icy Vision, this will include a new larger VRM heatsink for the R9 290 and R9 290X soon.

I sent an email here "info@rexususa.com" requesting info on the VRM heatsink and they are now sending me the enhancement kit for the cooler I bought that was listed as compatible with the 290X. Unfortunately I didn't recieve the email until after I purchased the Kraken G10 lol. So anyone else may want to give them a shout as I don't know if this will have to be purchased or just show proof of purchase of the cooler. thumb.gif

I'll get a pic up for comparison once it arrives biggrin.gif

As soon as it arrives I will list the contents along with pics to compare what came in the original cooler package. The CS rep didn't give me a ship date so I have no clue when it will arrive. I can't say whether it will be an added cost or if they will offer them free if you show proof of purchase. I would say to contact them being you have the same cooler and ask about the VRM heatsink and they may send you one as well, email is in the op thumb.gif

Really hoping that new VRM1 cooler is good - i think i can hit 1220mhz+ on the core but temps are holding me back.

Should be in today, rep said it shipped on 3/5 from Hong Kong and to allow 14 days for international shipping...didn't say if those were business days tho...hoping it's not lol.

Just showed up before leaving for work, VRM has a larger fin area and they made a VRM for the smaller 3 near BIOS switch along with another for the memory chip near the pci connector.

Thanks! Was hoping that the VRM1 sink would be fatter..but i guess if it screws in properly and has larger fins itll be better.

It comes with pads? How much is it and is it availble for order? tongue.gif

The one they sent came with 2 strips of pad and the other VRM and memory sink has tape applied. Not sure of a cost since I just contacted the email in the OP and a customer service rep asked my shipping address so they could get the kit out to me free of charge. I would contact them at the email in op as they were very friendly and knew about the issue.
