any chance you can do a fresh install on different hard drive?

I uninstalled from my SSD. redownloaded and installed on the HDD and encountered the same problem as before.

The opinions of the CX600 being a crap PSU are not sufficient as you (OP) replied.
The CX600 is more than capable of providing power to your system, might not be the best PSU out there but it gets the job done. People talk crap about my PSU too and it has been 3 years, my Phenom overclocked to 4.1Ghz and two 6850's.
But we can't discard the fact that the PSU itself may be faulty.

Use the iGPU and try loading up uningine on your current installation. If it does load up it might be a driver related issue.

To test the PSU I would consider running Prime95 in blend+kombustor at the same time, it will bring a massive load to all of your system, CPU+GPU+RAM+PSU.
If something fails it will fail there almost certain.

Software wise, if possible and like said by a different user, clean install in a different HDD. Install only the basic stuff and then uningine.

Yes, I am not ruling out the possibility that the PSU is faulty. Most people are jumping to the conclusion that it is the PSU because of a negative reputation the CX series has, which is in my opinion, is unfounded. I have seen far more documented cases of success with the CX600M than failure.

I don't have Prime95. I will download that and perform that stress test and reply back with my results.
My intel GPU is disabled, I heard that it can interfere and cause longer load times when it is enabled if you have a dedicated card. I will try running unigine on the iGPU when I get back.

I haven't slept in many hours though after getting my hands on the ESO beta(I quite enjoy it) and doing further research into my problem. I have until Wednesday to decide on a course of action. Either request a new 770 Lightning, or upgrade to the 780 so I have some time to conduct tests. There is even a local TigerDirect store(I got my 770 and would get the 780 through them) with a repair center, I may be able to talk with them into letting me play Frankenstein with some components to help better diagnose the problem.

I'll be back in a couple hours with my stress test results, in the meantime, I encourage others to help troubleshoot the issue and I will respond to everyone soon.

if it has a negative reputation why are you defending it so hardily.

if its not the psu then its your 770, which is harder to get a hold of to do a swap out and see whats up?

I'm defending it because the negative reputation comes from those who don't have the PSU, and it is more opinion than fact. The CX series might not be ideal for gaming, but it gets the job done at arguably the most appealing price point. If I was rebuilding my computer today, I would in all honestly probably still purchase the same one because of the price to performance.

Now, it could still be that my PSU is the source of the problem, but there are so many positive occurrences with even more stringent specifications than mine. There is more than enough good about the CX600M that not all fingers point to that being the problem.

Lets think about it, if my PSU is the problem, why is it the problem? Is it because it is not delivering enough juice into my Lightning? Is it because the power it is getting is unstable and erratic?

Give me reasons. Don't attack the problem in the manner you are doing. You say CX isn't the best or most ideal for gaming so that must be the problem, this is again more opinionated than factual. I agree, the CX is not IDEAL for a higher end GPU. But it works 90% of the time.

Thank you, this is the kind of constructive advice I am looking for.
I'm not sure how unstable it really it. Its only Unigine that I am having problems with -- regardless of settings.
Luckily, it hasn't been 30 days since my purchase and I have a local TigerDirect store. I already called in and explained I purchased it online and want to return in-store and upgrade to the 780. They said no problem at all. Its a big relief to avoid the RMA process.

Still waiting on Wihglah's response about having the same problem with the 770 Lightning, but signs point to returning and upgrading to the 780.

If the card is not stable with the settings it shipped with, it is defective. Send it back and avoid the headaches.
