it looks old skool but it will be new? Will you add bluetooth/wireless/mp3 support?

edit: will you show those transformers or are you make covers for them?

The inputs will be through the phono ports already fitted, this means I can hook up my CD player that goes with my existing amp up into this. The second input will be through an 3.5mm jack using an auxiliary cable, meaning I can hook up my phone, pc, mp3 player, whatever takes your fancy.

I plan on cleaning up the metalwork on those transformers before the final product, but will have them showing

Thanks bud! Got another update ready to post, along with whatever work I get done today. Just spent a fairly large sum of money on capacitors and resistors in maplins, bought a couple switches and potentiometers also.

Update time!

This is a big update, been putting off posting this because it's a pain on from my phone, this is 2 updates in one really.
Sending this from my phone because all the photos in this update where taken from my GS4. Expect inconsistent lighting, shakiness, and maybe blurring.

Riveting down the 5 valve bases that I painstakingly cleaned up from the second donor radio.

Done!

Overview shot.

Let's get the valves in! So here we have two ECC83s, two EL84s and one EZ81

They look a little dirty, especially the rectifier valve (EZ81)

Now they're shining!

Wired up the heaters for the valves, power switch, and power light bulb

Heaters all working fine, nice orange glow from the valves!

Shot of the Mullard EL84, glowing brightly.

Foreground, ECC83, my GS4 macro working overtime.

Lights off!

Power indicator looking nice!

Today's work, fitting the remaining switches, jacks and potentiometers.
Fitted two toggle switches to control which inputs and outputs are used.

3.5mm input jack on the rear fitted

Two more potentiometers fitted here for volume control. Originally I intend to have balance and control but there wasn't a potentiometer rated right for the balance control so I am going with a volume for each amp, left and right. A little more fiddly I guess but oh well.
Also fitted the 3.5mm output jack headphones.

Close up of the power light, switch and output jack.

That's your lot for now folks, tonight I hope to get a lot of wiring up done biggrin.gif stay tuned!

I'm at work so I don't have time to view this whole thing, but definitely subbing for later enjoyment. Looks like an incredible project!
