fx 6350 vs 8320 - Page 10

I just added a 3rd video to this post which shows how an i5 3570k @ 4.4Ghz behaves while running two HD 7870 XT video cards in Crossfire. Feel free to watch it and see what I was talking about earlier.

HINT: The 3570k system doesn't perform as well as my FX-8320/GTX 780 setup... wink.gif

I was in the same boat, but with the 6300. Went ahead an spend the extra $ and go the 8320, and I'm glad I did!

okay, like i said, i will be reading this whole thread, and OP first popped out biggrin.gif

is that bolded part true for UK??
is it only here in USA where these 2 chips are only ~$20 off?

so 1 core @6ghz is better than a 4 core at 3.4 ghz??

(basically a super overclocked pentium vs an i5??)

if so,

how do you get these values? (or rules i guess)

Indeed, and both of our computers have 2 monitors.

MSI afterburner has an On-Screen Display too that will show you CPU load while you're in game. Check that out too.

Let me say it again: An FX 8320 when overclocked is not... I repeat, NOT a bottleneck on BF4. Period.

Unless there has been a lot, lot of improvement, when using dx11 you won't really have problems for a 60hz screen, but are walled off with cpu bottlenecking when trying to maintain 120

fraps benchmark, frametimes.csv shows you as much, quite easily

There isn't a CPU out there that can maintain 120FPS in BF4 on ultra/high settings, even overclocked as far as I'm aware.

Agreed. I've tried to optimize BF4 to the point that it will run 120fps flat on either my i5 3570k or FX 8320, and It simply cannot be done. If you look at the video where my GTX 780 is running Geforce Experience optimized settings, you will see that the framerate averages about 110-120 pretty easily, but the framerate still dips down to the 70-80 range in heavy combat. Unless an Intel i7 3xxx or 4xxx 6 core can handle it better, I don't think it's possible yet.
